I didn’t sign anything because the deal sucks. I’m looking at other sports sedans for $200/month less with the same MSRP.

Just thought I’d share with the community since information on this car is very limited. That said, I’m really hoping they start providing some incentives, because I absolutely loved this car!

Yeah i got a quote on a 38k g70 for $530/month, the salesman was surprised when i told him I don’t value my money at that for a 38k car, saying the car just came out as an excuse. Doesn’t matter if it just came out or not, nobody is gonna lease a g70 for anything remotely close to that.

That’s what they kept telling me. I said it doesn’t matter to me how new it is; what matters to me is how the deal compares to other cars in the segment. Genesis is trying to make a name for themselves and compete with the big luxury brands, but with prices like these they will fail. Incentives are bound to come, it just sucks to have to wait

You give the general population too much credit.

Agreed. For instance, until I joined here, I had no idea you could negotiate selling price on a lease…

Isn’t genesis a dressed up Hyundai?

Lexus/Toyota
Acura/Honda
etc

How does $1000 drop your payment by $61/mo on a 36 mo lease???

And? Hyundai makes great cars and the G70 is one of them. I mean, I’d never pay these prices, but the car is getting rave reviews.

This a million times. It should be about 30 a month. Just shows you they’re hiding something behind the numbers they refuse to show.

Yes but even if you have no clue you would still prefer a BMW 340 for the same monthly.

Isn’t the stinger on the same platform? I know the engine and trans are the same and they lease much better.

Going off the thread title (of 719/month) vs the monthly payment in the post (749/month) the 1k dropped the payment $31. I’m going to assume the 749 is a typo and the thread title is the accurate price.

$1k down and $1k rebate, technically

Yes, my mistake

Yes, the Stinger is on the same platform, engine, and powertrain. However, significant amount of work and tuning went into the G70 to set the dynamics apart from the Stinger’s.

I’d be interested in test driving the G70 to see how it actually is apart from my car. I would never lease the G70, though, those numbers are INSANE.

Base G70 would be an AWESOME buy if it were between 300 and 350 a month (competing with 3-series money).

I believe the only cars in Hyundai’s stable that share platform/powertrain/engines are the G70/G80 and Stinger, so while it can be just a “dressed up Hyundai,” very much in the same way an S3 is a dressed up Golf R, or a ES350 is a dressed up Toyota Camry, or Q50 is a dressed up Nissan Altima, so on and so forth.

Yes but even if you have no clue you would still prefer a BMW 340 for the same monthly.

Given that it costs more (MSRP), I would have imagined the lease costs would be higher… Plus, in our case, we tried a 3-series, and the legroom in the back is insufficient for the kids. Stinger has LOTS more rear legroom…

The G70 definitely shares more traits with the stinger than with any other Hyundai products. Genesis does a good job of distinguishing the brand. In terms of how it feels compared to the stinger, it’s more compact, sharper, lighter yet planted. Manages its weight much better. More refined (and the stinger is not unrefined). One or two reviews have stated “it feels more like a 3 series than a 3 series” and I’m inclined to agree

Hmm, thinking of going to test drive one, then. Maybe I’ll ask about leases as well, see what kind of deals are in this area.
