2019 C43 sedan ridiculous insurance quote

Anyone here got any decent pricing on insuring a new C43 AMG. Liberty mutual gave me a quote for $10,000/year. They said that the collision damage bumps up the quote. I have a clean driving history and no claims.

Other top insurers in the country have given me quotes for anywhere between $2k - 3k per year. Is it really that expensive to insure the C43 sedan ?

Any recommendations, specially in Boston area are highly appreciated.

Thanks.

2-3k a year sounds about right. $10k is insane and there must be an error if everyone else is quoting you in the 2-3k range.

Progressive has given me the lowest quotes consistently. $2K per year doesn’t that bad especially if you’re a youngish male

well 3 years ago my friend was paying ~490/month for a subaru brz with Geico…:stuck_out_tongue:

Moving to off ramp.

I’m sorry, but did I just read $10K a year for auto insurance?!? Wow lol.

Yup, even the Liberty agent who was helping me with the quote suggested that I should shop around with other insurance companies. Said that this quote was ridiculous

I don’t think ridiculous is even the word for that quote…lol

Try esurance

Does anyone use esurance?

A guy I know is paying$600 a month for two cars through Geico!!! He showed me his policy. I was in awe!!

Insurance is far from simple to compare. I pay $2400/yr for 3 vehicles, but since you don’t know my age, marital status, driving history, credit history, or zip code, it is a meaningless stat.

Bingo! Call all the major companies and compare.

And do that before buying!

Or a good broker can also do that for you.

in my experience, brokers don’t use geico or progressive…direct to consumer companies.

or perhaps i’m just ignorant!

Direct companies aren’t necessarily cheapest, esp as you start going above state min and think about protecting assets

They sure weren’t the cheapest for me.

Makes that 699 a month lease deal on the C43 a moot point…

For what it’s worth, I’ve got an S4 (very similar car) and I’m paying $130/month for it with a $750 deductible 100/300/100. I’m 25 m, and have nothing on my driving record. I went with Geico but all of the other insurance companies were quoting me somewhere around $200/month. When I had my Range Rover Velar I was paying $93/month with $250 deductibles for the same level of coverage. Both of these were registered slightly outside of Chicago so YMMV.

Perhaps not…but a broker can’t check everything. Don’t most brokers only work with one company…for example, my home person (live in fire area in LA) only does Allstate.

I happened to get my insurance through Costco…they have a program with Ameriprise which was much better than both Progressive and Geico. Liberty Mutual was competitive as well.

Then they wouldn’t be a real broker. The whole value prop of a broker is to shop around for you and find value for you.

Maybe you’re thinking of an agent (who works with one company)?
