2019 Audi S4 Lease Help

I do have very good credit 750+, but it’s kind of short (2 years history). But user mllcb42 is right, I need to figure this thing out before talking numbers.

Went to the dealership yesterday. Here is the deal:

MSRP: $60,940
Sales Price: $49,500 (19% discount)
Residual: $30,470
MF: 0.00019
36 months / 12,000 miles
Monthly payment with and without tax: $544 / $595

Waiting for an approval from a financial institution.

What is the actual discount and what are the incentives?

That is actual discount is 19%, but I am sure dealer allowance ($4,500) was included in that discount. If you count without dealer discount, then its 12%.

I am happy with the total cost and monthly payments, my goal was to get it under 1% of MSRP $60,940 with $0 down.

1% is a meaningless metric. However yes this is a good deal as long as you are OK with the older outgoing model.

I see. For some reason people refer to 1% a lot, though. Thanks for the feedback.

Ugh, the 1% rule/metric is for pleabs.

It’s a rudimentary tool used by people that don’t know much about leases. For some cars 1% is great for others it sucks.

Only good thing about this lease is the 12K miles. Otherwise it’s run of the mill unless it’s a black optic package car. The car is changing aesthetically and only the black optic looks similar. The deals were not great on these and I wound up going w M340xi - how much are you putting down?

This is not a run-of-the-mill deal. Most people are not going to get 12% discount plus full rebate at buyrate MF

i actually was pretty careful w that wording not to make him feel bad. I think this is a poor deal unless it has black optic package, which will at least make it somewhat like the new version. It’s an undesirable car. Dealers cannot get rid of them. I have 10 dealers in tristate area that were trying to sell me this car with black optic at better rates!

Your personal preferences on aesthetics are of no concern to anyone.

If you have better deals, post them here.

Actually it’s not only aesthetics. When a body changes the legacy version is worth less - unless of course you are talking about a classic car. And while black optic package is obviously a different look, it has intrinsically more value given the added features. Look max_g, maybe you own an S4 w the chrome… if so, sorry for the insult. But for the same $$ you can get the M340xi which is a significant upgrade.

It has black optic package, magma red seats, S sport differential, adaptive suspension, Ban&Olufsen and all other fun stuff. The car was initially priced at $62,440 before a $1,500 discount.

@max_g thanks for your feedback. It’s funny how they offered me 0.00104 MF initially, which is almost 5 times more than the base MF. I had to argue with the guy but gladly he readjusted MF to the base rate.

If it is the P+, you should have virtual cockpit with Google earth. Love that feature on my A4.

Yes, it is P+ with virtual cockpit, looks really amazing. Is the navigation good enough?

Google earth is better than the stock Audi map. I believe you get a 6 month trial and then have to pay for it (Forgot how much it costs).

1% rule is a general metric that says the car leases well, and thus you’re better off leasing the vehicle rather than purchasing (that same vehicle).

But, as others have mentioned, just because you get a 1% lease, doesn’t mean you got a good deal. For example, if the vehicle is typically leasing at 0.5%, and you settled for 1%, then you got hosed.

So, move forward with leasing, but make sure you’re getting the best deal possible, and don’t just settle for 1%.

I prefer the S4 without the black optic. It’s already so understated. The tiny bit of tasteful chrome adds some flair. Unfortunately in south Florida I have not found a single premium plus without the black optic package.

I keep the map up in the virtual cockpit for easy spur-of-the-moment navigation and then use Waze through CarPlay on the normal screen during the times I need a specific route mapped out.
