2018 mercedes fleet discount question

im leasing a 2018 mercedes glc 300 4matic for my dad as a gift and wanted to know how to get the fleet discount. The lease will be in his name

He retired and receiving pension from Metlife, which I believe the company is eligible

I am a member of PenFed. How do i get the control number, and what do they verify?

Can i just open a Penfed account for my dad and get the discount?

Have you tried Google?

You have to wait 90 days for a new penfed to get the discount. But I used my number, added myself was the colessee. your dad can still sign, insure in his name. I did same exact thing with my dad 2 weeks ago

It is immediate. 90 days is not required.

Online, I could not to the Benz page…I tried with 2 accounts. When I asked why I couldn’t get on, they said my membership was too new.

Are you able to login to the benz link here: https://penfed.truecar.com/Index.html ? I still can’t get in, it makes me login in again and again

Hey Dev,

You may be right. I have not tried it myself. I did call Penfed and the customer service rep told me that the MB fleet benefit was available immediately. But the benefit is handled by truecar, not penfed, so the rules may be dictated by Truecar and MB not Penfed.

It would be worth a call to Penfed and Truecar. Please let me know what you find out.

Did you guys get a firm answer on this? I keep getting different answers from different PenFed reps. Unsure of how to see if my PenFed membership is eligible for the discount yet. It keeps making me log in again and again as well. I tried going through truecar for a certificate, but it mentions nothing about penfed and quotes me for a new car. Any insight or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Same here :frowning:

Even i am facing this issue of system asking me to re-login. If anyone has successfully used PenFed fleet, can you please list down specific steps taken?

Just found this. Courtesy @Ursus

The PenFed fleet discount is only available to those who have had a PenFed account for 1 year or longer. It states that on the PenFed site. I don’t have the link where exactly, but I just read it a few minutes ago.

Can anyone confirm if the Fleet incentive is able to be combined with dealer cash (MB incentive)? I’ve had dealers tell me it cannot be combined (but of course they would say that since they want to collect that money), but the form does not list it as one of the things that the fleet incentive cannot be combined with which is basically other corporate or certificate programs.

I was told by a dealer last week that you cannot stack the dealer incentive with PenFed. One or the other. But the PenFed discount is bigger ($2250 vs $1250). Would like to learn this as well.

Most dealers I have talked to have said that you cannot stack it with dealer cash because it IS dealer cash (?). However, at least 1 dealer told me it’s no problem to stack them. Don’t know if they’re just moving money around elsewhere or what, but the girl I talked to didn’t even hesitate when I asked her and told me the other dealers had misinformed me.

That would be a pretty neat hack. Please report back on whether this actually goes thru or if it doesn’t stack when the F&I person does the paperwork, aka clicks a few buttons on his/her PC.

That’s not the dealer I’m getting my vehicle from so I won’t be able to report back on that.

Having gone through multiple MB leases I have never seen fleet stack in full with dealer cash despite claims to the contrary. If the fleet discount is bigger than the dealer cash then the difference will stack.

Has anyone been able to login to the PenFed site to access the discount certificates? The site doesn’t respond when I try to log in. The good folks at PenFed aren’t sure what’s happening and give different answers. Any hacks to get this to work?

First time poster. I went and logged into my PenFed account. I have been a member for multiple years. The page automatically assigned me a number and sent me and email. Here is the email. All the details you are looking for some to be spelled out in it. It gave me my discount code number but I am not posting this for obvious reasons. Long email but filled with terms, conditions, and amounts.

Wow. Thanks for sharing. I’m a member as well, but I’m not able to log in. I called PenFed and they said that I need to go through the TrueCar pricing to get the discounted pricing. I didnt think that was correct, and now I’m positive.
Unless someone else has had a similar situation and a solution, I’ll just keep calling them to get an answer.
Thanks!

These are the May numbers, so they may have changed. Also, USAA has the same list of fleet discounts with no login required (click “view all offers”). As of right now, it still only lists the May numbers though.
