So I am new to this forum this will be my first deal. I’ve seen a lot of buzz going around over the new Honcker app so i decided to check it out.

I was shopping around last month after i saw the ridiculous deals everyone seemed to be scoring on the 17’ Equinox ($150-$200/mo). So i did my calculations and hit some dealers but received heavy push back to get below $200mo on a 24 month 15k lease on the LS FWD. Ended up walking from most deals because i felt there was still money to be saved.

This is where Honcker comes in. I sign up for the app which takes all of 2 minutes (they do require a soft pull on your credit to generate the payments for you) and began scouring the site for deals. Now you can’t just boot up the app and click on the first car you see and automatically get an amazing deal, there are plenty of vehicles priced to well above market (example: $1400 for a Tahoe Premier). So to effectively use the app you have to know what a good deal is. By looking at the deals people post on this forum as well as working with some dealers you can fairly easily establish that ball park in my case it was sub-$200 a month for the Equinox.

Now here comes the fun part, so i am searching in the chevy section and i spot a $193/mo lease on the Equinox LS FWD 24mo 15k/mo. Pretty solid deal and mind you much better than the bottom line the dealers were willing to go (one sales rep told me that if i got that truck for under $200mo bring him the contract and he’d go pick up 2 for himself). Now i scroll a little further and i see a Traverse LT AWD for $246/mo now that really peeks my interest!

I click lease on the car and the dealer contacts me shortly after, this particular vehicle ended up not being available due to slight damage it had suffered on the lot so the sales rep did not feel comfortable with me taking that one,
but they had a similar one but was slightly more expensive (now here i am anticipating the bait-and-switch). The new truck had captain chairs, heated/power front seats, 20-inch wheels, as well as remote start.(this car had the tech package for $1250). So here i am ready to get knocked off my chair anticipating a $300/mo price. However the difference in price was only $700 and they’d be willing to split the difference and price the truck at $259/mo.

I told the dealer ill take it, he had me submit a credit app and all necessary paperwork to get the deal approved, i took delivery 2 days later and was at the dealer for a total of 27 minutes!!! Could not have been more excited about the deal and the experience, educate yourself on the price range of what the car is selling for, and scour Honcker until you see a can’t miss deal.

The dealer was Nanuet Chevy, the sales person was Joe Sinatra, he said similar deals can be had on their remaing 2017 Traverse LT’s.

Very nice, thank you for the detailed post about your experience. I’ve read mixed reviews about Honcker but may actually give it a try later this year once I’m in the market for a new car.

Hey Dave,

Honcker connects dealers to buyers, so the prices are only has good as what the participating dealers are posting with. Thats why it is important to come up with a ballpark of what a “good deal” is, usually everyone uses the 1% of MSRP as the benchmark in my case $380 would’ve been a “good deal”. But some vehicles have great incentives that can get you way below the 1%, so all i can say is do your research and just monitor the app for a good deal on the vehicle you’re looking for. Happy Hunting!

This is NY? Im in westchester, ny do you think i can match this deal?

Thank you.

I plan on doing the work myself as I have before, but I figured if there is a screaming deal to be had, I may not be at the right place at the right time. Or in this case may not have the right sales person, or the right dealer.

I also figure dealer has a better incentive of posting information to a 3rd party, such as Honker, that gets a lot more views and is almost guaranteed a sale if they post something that cannot be passed on. My eyes will be peeled on the few cars I’ve narrowed down to

my dealer was Nanuet Chevy in Nanuet, NY. My sales person was Joe Sinatra, give the dealership a call and see if he can replicate the deal for you, if so might be worth it to take a trip down or have the car shipped.

Sounds like a great deal overall. That dealership in the past has not been so kind with the payments. I was just there on June 30th with the exact salesman Joe. Without honkr there is no way they were quoting that.

This is the exact type of deal I am looking for!

@vinny How doyou know your rebates breakdown? Can you send a copy of the lease?

ok im working on a deal right now with joe. without competitive lease its looking around 320 per month, Any other rebate i can add on here ?

All the rebates are listed in my orig post, did you tell him about the $246 on Honcker?

Rebates are listed in orig post

yep I mentioned the honcker app and he was willing to match except i don’t have a competitive lease at the moment. I asked about corporate fleet discount as well. He said he would get back to me. i think i might just go with 10 or 12k miles. thanks for this post

That is a great deal! I’m also new to this leasing thing and currently shopping for a good deal. Some dealership told me today that the rebates are factored in when expecting the magic 10% off msrp. apparently you were able to lower the sales price AND the rebates combined.

Anyone know if this guy will do an out of state and ship the truck? Have a phone # for him?

The comp lease is like 1500, tell him discount the car the 1500 to make up the diff. If he wants to sell the car he’ll do it

Do the 24 months too

I was asking did they break it out before. I’m surprised they told you those pieces. Any others. I’m wondering how long they last. Until month end or etc. I wouldn’t even need 15 K. 24 would be perfect for me as well. Wouldn’t want to leave any lease cash on the table. Like if you had specific targeted lease cash.

@chevysalesgirl @ChevyPhil @Randy_Haddox1. Any idea of additional incentives.

ah. in socal, we only have 500 for comp lease not 1500.
