2016 Hyundai Genesis AWD lease for $193. Can we do better?

wimpwgn - which dealership? do you have the name of your sales guy?

WIN Hyundai in El Monte, Clint Castillo was the sales. I got the pricing through truecar and they padded another $500 on top of truecar price.

Selection is limited though, they had to do a dealer trade to get the color combo I wanted.

he is hardly discounting the car for you at all? shoot for ~$3000 more off

To everyone who has taken advantage of this deal or is looking to. The Android Auto and Apple Carplay software upgrade just came out today. Will work with any trim but the ultimate.

didnt get mine here, but they have a lot of stock if youre willing to come up to San Jose. 25 Genesis sedans

Dumb question but where do you go to download the update? I’m searching on mobile and don’t see anything. Being new to this, is this something you install to your mobile device, and then plug in to your vehicle? Have never done a vehicle update before.

Need to register your car on myhyundai.com and there will be a download tab. You then take the sd card from your car and put it in your computer and run the software you downloaded from myhyundai.com

Dumb question. When you say $0 drive off are you still paying the first month, registration/doc & tax on cap cost reduction? So basically in the example on the front page post, the $1,174 drive off is still considered $0 as you’re not paying into the lease except for the required taxes, etc? Or is it the lease negotiated such that you actually pay $0 and drive off?

Just re read the article…$0 down not $0 drive off!

I’m pretty sure that even though you are putting the 1k+ down for taxes and reg etc… it is still considered zero down.

$0 drive off for me means nothing out of pocket and drive the car away. Basically the typical drive off amount is rolled into the lease payments, so I’m only making 35 payments.

Hey all,

Was quoted some pretty good numbers today in terms of sales price and rebates, but the monthly payments I was quoted don’t seem to make much sense. Here are the numbers I was given:

Gensis 3.8 AWD Base Model
MSRP: $42,400
Sales Price: $37,083
Rebates: $4900
Doc and title: ~$650
Net Cap Cost: $33,821 (it looks like they added another $1000 here…)
Term: 36/12
Residual Value: 57%
Money Factor: .00075

Monthly payment with $0/down = $380

Am I missing something here? Using their miscalculated net capital cost I’m calculating $333/month all included, and $303/month assuming they adjust the net capital cost to $32,821.

Input is greatly appreciated!

(edit: forgot to add doc and title in to net cap cost; now added, monthly numbers still don’t add up)

money factor looks inflated. everyone seems to be getting .00017 on RWD like i got in CA, or .00035 for AWD.

when you say doc/title, do you just mean doc fee and dmv? seems pretty high, but i dont have any idea about other states. CA maxes out at $80 doc fee, dmv seems to be $3-400

Where does it mention the $3500 lease cash deal. Unable to find it anywhere on the Hyundai website.

and you want. just tell them you know its available and would like them to pass the full amount to you. if not, just try your luck at another dealer.

Ok… will do. It looks like the dealers here in Texas are not open with the $3500 lease cash.
Thanks

I am going to shoot for the following rebates
3500 Lease Cash + 1000 non Owner + $1000 Uber Driver + 150 Amex +$1000 VIP certificate = $6650

What do you guys think… rebates look reasonable?

Others like myself are literally driving off the lot paying nothing. The dealerships will roll the fees into your payments. So it’s amortized over 35 payments. Mine, for instance, was $0 down and $229/month inclusive of the dealer doc fees, tax, etc. it was $193 before everything was added in, so I could have paid it up front, but with the excellent money factor, it made it worth amortizing it. Plus, as a rule of thumb, never put money down on a lease.

Super helpful thank you! Where does one find the SD card?

“$0 drive off” AKA “$0 due at signing” is not the same as “$0 down” though people do confuse them all the time…a “down” payment is a cap cost reduction (CCR), which in essence is just pre-paying some of the monthly lease payments. You used to be able to save a little bit on finance charges (rent) via down payments but these days money factors are so low it’s trivial.

Dealers add to the confusion by using these terms, while hiding drive-off dues in the fine print. TTL is pretty common to find in the fine print, since those are charged by the state, but many will also hide Acq fee ($595-975 before any upcharge) and doc/processing fees ($75 in NY up to $799 or more in places with no mandatory cap and little competition).

Under the bluelink button in the center stack. You can pull off the cover to expose the SD card slot.
