Yukon Denali, Tahoe etc

I normally lease cars for 12k miles 36 month lease with 0 down at a fair price. With the money factors and low residual the pricing is nuts. Been receiving quotes for the denali Yukon as well as the tahoe RST between $1440-1550. Normal pricing over the past 10 years ish for theses cars has been between 750-950 +/- for these cars, so the difference is killing me. I currently have a telluride and the car is to small for us (family of 6) so we are kind of forced into a larger suv.

Anyone on here getting better pricing? Im in CA which is part of the problem but also priced out of state cars with minimal price difference.

thx for reading my rant

Almost no way to make a lease work on one of these right now. However, given they have strong residual value, a purchase and sale will normally yield an effective TCO in the range which you expect. This means you need to be able to execute a cash purchase or stomach high interest rates.

A more creative option is to go a balloon loan route. This will still require a large down payment (around $20K), but much less than an all-cash purchase. The total interest in a balloon loan is about the same as a traditional loan over 2 years over ownership.

Finance an odyssey if you want to save money

Another aspect of TCO is that it’s usually best on the entry- or mid-level trims. Something to keep in mind when looking at RST Tahoes and Denali Yukons.

Other ways to get creative:

Toyota Grand Highlander could be the most spacious unibody introduced to the US market. Worth comparing how much extra space you get in a Tahoe for all that extra money, and whether it’s worth it.

Jeep Wagoneer maybe? I haven’t kept up with how they’re pricing these days.

What’s the specific issue with the Telluride? If the main issue is that there’s no luggage space after 6 people are seated, maybe a rooftop box could solve that.

If I remember correctly, Tahoe has less space than Traverse despite having the bigger exterior dimensions.

Yukon Denali at those ranges? That seems cheap even for the past.

that range was the yukon XL and suburban not the denali

the traverse is similar to the Telluride in space. Tahoe has more room overall side to side and in the cargo

thx max. Ive been looking into the wagoneer and it seems like a nice car, but Im having a hard time doing anything because of the poor reputation Jeep has on maintenance.

My boys are big and crammed in the back is the main reason we are getting out of the telluride. ( we were hoping after going from a Yukon XL to that a few years ago it would be ok )

Ha, i looked in the carnival and my wife flipped lol but then looked at the measurements and its similar to the telluride

Had an Escalade rental for the last week and was shocked by how little room there was in it.

Body on frame vs. unibody (the latter being much more space efficient).
