You LeaseHackers Are Doing It All Wrong!

I think for high volume models being present may be more effective. Those aren’t my targets though…

That would be great if the recent auto sales data was as plentiful and available as real estate comps, but it isn’t. Sifting through this site to find the handful of recent reported M340 sales is better than nothing but not exactly a large enough sample size to rely upon.
Also, the in person negotiation theory fails to address the problem of a local dealer not having your desired vehicle on the lot. If my target car is inventoried by multiple dealers 50 to 100 miles away, surely you don’t suggest driving out to one or more stores-with your numbers in hand- rather than simply texting, emailing, chatting or calling?

This is why I have customers come in and sign a deal before actually getting the car.

I can tell you from selling hundreds (maybe thousands) of cars that the best deals I have ever seen have all been in person. Some of them have pissed me off because they have been better than employee pricing.

I like to at least start the conversation online, weeds out the dealers that aren’t serious. These dealers that quote you $100 to $200 month higher than everyone else usually aren’t worth messing with. Last dealer I had like that didn’t even follow up after the initial peel them off the ceiling quote

How do you decide what the contract terms are before the customers come in and sign. Or you do fill in the blanks after they sign?

My email deals were better than CEL deals hands down. But to each his own. GSM was so shocked he said i better send credit app now or else he is taking it.

What’s that word when someone is so full of themselves that they don’t hear the crap that is coming out if their mouth?

Anyway if you’re going to give me this crap over an email I’m not wasting 3 hours of my life with you.

My last car deal I spent total of 2 hrs including travel and email negotiation and got the best email price in a 100 mile radius and still got them to lower the price another $600 when I got there. If they weren’t willing to give me straight forward price via email I wasn’t going to go there.

Everyone else who played the come-in and let’s discuss game we’re not even close. Dealers think and maybe have a great conversion rate with people coming in and letting their guard down and that’s what they’re hoping.

You’re missing the larger point. No one is saying the best method is negotiating from start to finish at a dealer. We are saying, often times, when you are in the final stages, going in person as a sign of your readiness to close the deal, can get you to the finish line on the numbers you want, versus just playing the email game. There is no magic bullet, no statistically significant data set to guarantee a price; you have to triangulate the sparse information that is available to determine what is achievable, and then grind to find the dealer who will meet it or better. Finding that dealer is a matter of moment in time, business strategy of the dealership (maybe they are trying to hit a goal to get a bonus from the manufacturer etc), and relationships. Triangulating that data and getting feedback is the entire of point of this community.

They are getting the car without hammering out all the details? Dealer sounds like an amateur.

We go over and agree to everything, email a PDF file of what they will be signing upon delivery, they agree, we deliver, they sign. Everyone gives everyone the virus.

Wait, so you do approve of online shopping and negotiating?
Glad to have you on the team.

Enjoy it while it lasts!

Edit: Actually I just realized I became my own broker so I will had to add $300 to $500 to each deal.

Had to google it and there is a cologne called Tom Ford FUCKING FABULOUS and yes I would like that. I have never been a big drinker though.

I like chocolate. Just like that woman who stole 5+ candy cars out of a fundraiser box at the dealership last night. We have that on camera and it is amazing.

You already are FUCKING FABULOUS and don’t let anyone tell you different. I can smell it from here.

I f*cking hate people sometimes (more and more, the older I get).

My guess is they need a sale with all of this going on. The know my target price per month, its up to them how they get there as they said they want my business and have called me pretty much every day letting me know the status.

To a point. There are times when email/phone has worked out well and there are times when I need to go to the dealer to finalize the negotiations and reach my target deal.

It really depends on the situation, salesperson, and the tactics of the dealer.

Actually been seeing some solid corsair leases in my area. Nothing incredible, but solid deals.

Dont go drinking too much of that Tom Ford stuff, no matter what anyone tells you about it’s preventative coronavirus qualities.
