XC90 Upgrade/Downgrade Question T8 +/- B6

Currently in a 2025 T8 Plus. I can exit my lease early at no cost and move into a 2026 B6 Ultra for the same monthly payment.

Looking for the community’s take on downgrading from the T8 powertrain/charging capability in exchange for the new body style and upgraded equipment on the 2026 B6 Ultra.

Also wondering — should I hold off a bit longer and see if T8 incentives start to drop, similar to what happened with the EX90? Or is that just wishful thinking?

Are you likely to notice the missing 200hp?

My hunch is it will take time to adjust. The t8 really moves fast.

What’s the payment? What was the DAS?

729 sign and drive on the t8. would be 729 sign and drive on the b6 ultra.

Ehhh T8 power delivery sucks. I’ve had 3 Volvos already each with different engine. B5 is enough for me, I am more concerned about their lack of fixing stupid issues since the beginning of day. I am looking at you squueky seat, freezing screen and few more.

Oh dear god that should be a hard pass

Current xc90 t8 owner and I would take a second look at this monthly for less hp. I was put in a T6 loaner for 2 weeks and couldn’t wait to get back into the T8. I prefer the phev for the silent drive.

T5 is good enough in XC60, but don’t compare XC90 B6 and XC90 T8

Keep the T8.

i should be cheaper than this on the b6.

Maybe…I had 2 xc90’s and now xc60 and I also had a 2026 xc90 B5 as a loaner due to my timing belt not behaving properly.

The T8 is powerful and fast but the delivery of power doesn’t feel natural compared to a powerful combustion engine. Yes I know it a Volvo and it’s meant to carry kids and flower plants.

All I am saying is that I would prefer a B6 or even B5. Having said that I do enjoy driving the xc60 much more but do miss the space of the 90 so there is that.

I had an XC90 B6 and did not like its power delivery at all. Can only imaging how bad B5 is. XC90 T8 delivers instant kick in hybrid mode. I like T8 power delivery much more than in my 25 GLC350e that feels slow and heavy and non-”electric”.

Keep T8. That is the best
