Congrats! I’ve always read so much about the S class. Never gotten the chance to ride one though. Happy for you ! Looks really great and more importantly, I can feel your joy !

@sh87 same here… I’ve read so much about it over the years, and it has always been this unattainable dream. Oddly enough I never felt the same about a Rolls Royce or a Bentley or what have you - those brands were never associated in my mind with driving, more like with being driven.

If I am to be completely honest, of course it doesn’t mean as much as my kid->teen->young adult->middle-aged-man has given it over time, but to me it does. I’ve now had it for 5 days and I still grin like a total idiot when I get in. I run my hands surreptitiously over the side leather, I take a deep breath before I start it… so yeah, logically speaking it’s a dumb thing to do, paying so much to effectively rent a car for 3 years but… the experience is oh, so worth it. For me, anyway.

The coupe is tremendous, but I still have two kids (and their friends) to drive around occasionally. Need those back doors!

Congratulations on the beautiful S class, we still have the 1991 420SEL which has been in family since new and only 64000 miles on it currently. They are truly incredible vehicles, yours obviously light years ahead in technology. Enjoy it my friend!

Truly are amazing vehicles, these, indeed.

Fun personal fact: while its predecessor models certainly helped define it, the official S-class was born on the same year that I was, a little tidbit I discovered over the years. In a strange way, it had increased my affinity towards them.

A car that is in a class of its own. Congrats!
