Crazy - you could lease a Bentley Continental GTC Azure for that
Some of those pics when the car was clean are outside Porsche San Francisco, and the dusty pics look like they’re from a repo-yard. We know why that Macan EV is on SAL.
Not as bad but this really got my eyes opened
Mercedes EQB 250… $984 /month.
There must be some incredible Neg Equity for a car that usually leased in the mid $300s before the $7500 expired
So, they turned down $7,500 to dispose of a car that wasn’t on the list and is going to cost them another $10,000 to keep before you count insurance, electricity and consumables?
Between that and their lease payment it’s safe to assume their decision making skills may be lacking.
Mercedes wasn’t offering to take the car back. They were offering money for a liability release, presumably for waiving the manufacturer warranty. That said, the $7,500 would cover most of the remaining lease payments. If they didn’t want the car they should have taken the money, used the money to pay off the lease and then just turned the car in early.
Yes that’s how I read it as well. Take the money and get rid of the damn thing.
I think that Reddit user was trying to get greedy and completely get out of the vehicle for free.
$7,500 not coveted 7 lease payments and he would have to cover the remaining $4,500 in the last 5 payments.
grounding early means he’d still owe the $4,500. And buying out the lease was probably even more expensive.
Too bad he missed snowy off-ramp season.
