Working a deal...2017 Jeep Cherokee High Altitude

So i’m trying to work a deal with some local Jeep dealers. One of them came back with this…I replied back with telling him i had .0002 and 49% (from edmunds) on a 36/15 lease. He said these prices were from US bank and not chrysler capital. He also added "US Bank does use idl bonus cash and the discount amounts to below cost for the Cherokee. Through that bank there are $7250 in rebates. I will run the numbers through seveal banks at 15k per year rolling everything in. " What does that mean for me? Does that mean he’s really only giving me a couple hundred off the msrp before any rebates? Any input or help is greatly appreciated.

They might be using a third party bank, i.e. US Bank.

I just added more info…

It looks like they are giving a $2685 discount for a purchase; they should be giving the same discount for a lease, before incentives are applied. So your total cap cost should be $40180 - $2685 - $7250 = $30245. Unless I am misreading something.

That sales tax is adding almost $100 per month on a 36 month lease!!

I am in NJ…is there any way around that @adamcar?

@Signer Do you think they should be marking it down anymore than that?

Buy a cheaper vehicle?

Someone from NJ hopefully can verify the proper taxation of a lease.

He also is saying I can’t do US bank at 15k

Ha, yeah i’m trying for that whole cheaper vehicle thing. Sometimes it’s just a little tough.

It’s an ugly price.

I just did a limited Grand Cherokee for $397 with zero down or due.

MSRP $44,xxx

I wouldn’t mind an GC at all. My main goal here is to get it under $350 a month with all costs rolled in. Also, hoping for a lease pull ahead. I have 3 payments of $330 left on the current lease (under miles).

I just don’t know how they are getting numbers over

Here is the latest with number from US bank with 15k miles and everything rolled in.
Now it’s showing the $2685 savings, $4000, rebates, and then $7250 in rebates in the tiny print. SHouldn’t that bring the selling price well below $30K?

This is my first time going about a lease this way. I typically would make the mistake and be like…this is the car i want, this what i want my payment to be. Thanks for the help.

That vehicle is going to be a challenge to get below $350.

Do you qualify for any special pricing?

What state is this?

What were the terms of that deal that you priced out?

Is the GC really leasing better than a regular cherokee?

That’s a great price per month. I’m in NY looking at a limited as well for $45,470. first month down and dmv only and I’m at $459 and dealer is claiming “take it or leave it”. I know I still have the weekend to squeeze, but, how much more do you think?

Cherokee is not a lease vehicle.

As in…they never lease well so there is no point?

They have terrible programs on them - why get the baby when you can get the real thing?

here is the latest group of numbers with the cash pricing off the sheet.

“The selling price is $37495, there are $7250 in rebates through US Bank. I will resend without the cash option”

That’s between you and the dealer.

We can’t control what they sell it for.
