Will Dealerships still be willing to make year-end deals on Jan 2?

Hey fellow hackers.

I know dealerships want to close deals on the 31st of December. Would they have any incentives to push out inventory on Jan 2 (which is when most of the current programs end for various brands).

Personally, looking to lease a Hyundai.

Thanks!

depends on the programs and dealership incentive plans. Would vary from brand to brand and, potentially, from dealership to dealership.

If you look at the Hyundai website special offers, it looks like end of year is Friday the 2nd for Hyundai.

You might slip a skinny deal or two in but no, the same motivation is no longer there. Better to keep the powder dry for March EOQ1 at this point.

Chevy’s stacked incentives all run through Jan 2nd. I’m eyeing a ‘25 but not sure if I feel a huge sense of urgency to hardball in the next 24 hours. I think the dealer’s motivation to offload a year+ old model will still be there come Jan 3rd.

I hope so im in no rush to buy a new car but I want one lol

Ya but the incentives could disappear. Working a 2024 deal currently hoping to close tomorrow that I have $6500 of incentives on top of decent discount.

True, it is a risk to wait. I wonder if old models can sit unincentivized after the promos end and just depreciate more on the lot. Maybe the residuals will start to creep up again.
