Model 3 = peoples car, like a glorified corolla and Camry

That’s not fair. Toyota remembered to install an interior in the Camry and Corolla.

Lol, I’m talking about ‘87 corolla. Perfect work car. Cheap with a big chance to drive a model S and the cool factor is there.

You sure never driven one if you think any of these 2 can compare.

They’re nice when assembled properly but Tesla is almost as bad as the German marques when it comes to nickel and diming on options.

@Mark.ca I’ve driven, being a passenger a lot of times since most of my coworkers has it. It’s not luxurious at all because it is made that way that’s why it’s not considered luxury. It’s a glorified corolla and Camry because that’s the go-to car for most office workers. My coworkers used to drives Camry’s and Accord and now Model 3. About 40% of them have and had broken Model 3 and they almost always get the model S or the performance model 3 from base model 3. So, they never complained, one of them even have their model 3 in the shop for more than 2 months now and no complaints coz he’s driving a model S now. 3 years from now, there will be more model 3 our building than any cars out here. Once they build the model Y, I will lease one for myself as well. Cheap cars especially we have free charger here at work.

In Texas with this week’s price cut, the base Tesla model 3 is ~$580/mo with $0 down and taxes rolled in.

I’m currently looking at a ~$60k BMW 5 series in Houston for around $500/mo +/- $50. BMW is currently waiving sales tax, which cuts the lease price dramatically, and it should be possible to get a 10%+ discount in a new car in addition to rebates.

Do you know if BMW has tax credits in TX for other models, or is it just the 5 Series?

I only know that tax credits are not available on the i3. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help!

Yes i know, it’s not luxury…much like most other cars mentioned in this post…but you still fell short at explaining why you think it compares to the Toyotas. Just because your coworkers switched from Hondas or Toyotas that doesn’t necessarily meant they are comparable. People do upgrade their rides, you know.

model 3 is the new peoples car. same as Toyotas. That’s reality. They rather spend $35k minus incentives than $30k toyota or honda. It’s not an upgrade. It’s the same price point. The corolla guy upgrades to model 3 than accord or camry. Case closed.

OP has left the building. Damn, this post has the most off topic convos…nonetheless entertaining.

Luxury car under $500/month for 5000 to 7500 miles/year in TX. Yeah as some mentioned the BMW 530i has good deals this month.

Oh, i get it now…you are talking price…i was talking performance. We’re good.

Statistically speaking, OP is probably divorced by now so we can keep trolling…

@Mark.ca yup, most people tend to buy anyways at that price point. And they lived within 35 miles from their job. Model 3 is the winner hands down. They will have a cool car at the same price as accord and camrys. Remember most people doesn’t know how to haggle anyways. Having $2500 California rebate and a nickel from fed refund, it’s a no brainer for most peeps.

I see more model 3 now than accords and camrys here is Los Angeles.

What’s the math that makes a model 3 cheaper than an econo mid size Camry?
