They’re knowledgeable enough to know about this site and what it’s for. But then post a deal they got that appears like they never actually used any of the information on the forum at all. Not trying to be a dick; I’m just confused.
the difficult UI and too much work rather than just typing out in the notes app and “copy/pasta” in the post
Even better: certain THers actually encourage those shitty deal posts in “Signed!” for some reason.
Its a free country ! Lol jk ! Personally i dont think it makes any difference. Actually still knowlegde for many folks here to learn from the mistakes. For years, we have been seeing folks posting “how did I do” topics after signing a deal and then sharing it in ask the hackers. Gives you a great idea of what mistakes one can make.
To add, theres people who make mistakes and learn, and then there are people that watch others make mistakes and they learn and avoid those same mistakes for themselves. Always good to be on the second group of folks.
Im not sure “encouraged” would be the correct term. Again, sharing any deal does have some information in it that may be useful to someone and THs still try their best.
How will we know if our deals are good if the people with bad deals dont let us know how terrible they did?
It’s all a conspiracy. They must be undercover dealer and broker operatives that are showing us the not so great deals that get signed so that we feel better about the deals we actually get.
Information is power in a negotiation. Dealers know what the price was on every car they’ve sold. Why wouldn’t you want to get as close as possible to having the same amount of information going into a negotiation? How else are you supposed to evaluate dealer statements like “we have no problem selling these at $X” without knowing what price they’re actually selling at?
If that is the case, then everyone needs to make sure that the comments on the bad deal are there, so that the people that don’t know better can see it.
Everyone wants to be the second mouse, but the second mouse needs to see that the first mouse is dead in the trap before hand.
