Why do 39 month leases exist?

Common lease durations I see are 24, 36, 39, 48 and 60. One of those is not like the others. Everything other than 39 are exact years in length. Why does 39 exist as an option?

What do financiers gain from 39, anything the leasee should look out for?

For the same reason 72 month loans exist. It makes the monthly payment lower for the consumer (those who focus on the wrong thing, anyway) and the profit a little higher for the financing company.
