Who's Getting Me A Lux 7 Seater for <$500 month/ tax-in :)

The Lexus GX is an amazing SUV. My parents bought the GX470 and they’re still driving it 13 years later with no problems other than one airbag recall. 210K miles and still going strong.

Just saw these incentives on Edmunds. Is this accurate and can I stack them? https://www.edmunds.com/lexus/gx-460/2017/car-incentives/ … meaning I can do the Customer Cash 3300, Loyalty Takata Recall 2500, College Grad 1000, and PGA 1000= $7800 towards the car which would be an EPIC deal.

Do you have a car with the airbag recall? I think that is what you need for that rebate.

Where can I find those makes/models/years.

Just got a response from the dealer after pitting them towards another in the area. Here’s the breakdown per phone convo on the LH Calculator:

The incentives are the 1k Grad, 1k PGA, and 500 loyalty. However, I’m gonna try and get the Takata Recall loyalty and add an additional 2k.

However, they have a Luxury Sport package demo that we’re interested in and I can leverage the mileage on that for a competitive deal.

This is nice. 57k SUV for under 500 a month, great deal.

OP, looks like you’re ready to sign and have a really good deal. I’ll add my 2 cents as I have cross shopped some of the other vehicles on your list. As previously mentioned, Acadia is very small now (and I found the seats terribly uncomfortable on a recent 6 hour trip). Traverse was a bit bigger and slightly more comfortable for the same car trip but 3rd row was way too tight for my youngest who is 5’4". Plus I don’t like that leather isn’t an option in lower trims. I tried the 3rd row on the Tahoe and Suburban but even with their changes to make the seats fold flat, the 3rd row was crap.

We ended up buying an Expedition, which has a much more comfortable 3rd row, but leases about as bad as any vehicle. Purchase price can be had at 23-27% off without too much haggling. There is very little lease support, so lease discounts are much lower.

Good luck to you. The GX looks like a great vehicle, but the 3rd row looks a bit it tight if you plan to use it everyday.

Thanks for the input and you confirmed what some of my concerns were with other vehicles. We signed yesterday evening and are grateful for all the input and advice from the forum. Thanks again.

OP, I’m in pretty much the same boat… trying to get out of a RX350 and considering the GX, Yukon and Grand Cherokee.

The folks at Coral Springs GMC rubbed me the wrong way but Palm Beach Lexus quoted me $630 / mo with $850 down & weren’t willing to budge off that # (this was for the $55k base version)

Do you mind sharing who you went with?

The GX for $4xx is a no brainer

@Armand9601 and @Mi1lion

After leasing many cars from the Coral Springs Automall, I have determined I am done with them. Truly the shadiest of all shady dealers. Way too much competition in our area to give them the business.

I have to agree, besides being relentless they try to belittle you into what they want you to do - sorry not going to happen…

Did you end up with the GX? Mind sharing the details?

I am in South Florida also. Trying to get Rx 350 where I need it to be.
No luck as of yet

Sorry for the delay, I went with JM Lexus. Mike Dubler is our sales rep.

I ended up with the GX with the following terms give or take a few because I’m typing this in bed, hopped up on cough medicine.
Term- 36/12k
MSRP- $61k
Selling Price- $52k I think (it was close to 16% off)
Base MF- .0007 and .00006 w/ 8 MSD’s. LFS wouldn’t accept 9 because it would’ve been .00001 or something like that.
R/V- 62%
Dealer worked some magic w/ consumer cash most likely, and I applied the PGA cert. (which was my last move to save an additional $30 /month) they were like what?!?! Apparently no one there knew about the cert, but it was valid and checked out.
TOOP w/ Inception, fees, etc was $5600 I believe, and $3600 being MSD’s. So around $2k for fees and inception.
Payment is $435 month/ tax-in.

Hope this helps, but please understand that I’m in a very fortunate situation/relationship with the dealership and wouldn’t expect this deal to be exactly replicated. Especially with the amount off MSRP.

Wow… that’s nowhere near what Lexus of Palm Beach is offering. Congrats On such a great deal!

I am in South Florida looking for an ES350 would you be kind enough to share some more information as to approach, etc. ? Thanks

It’s simple. Go into the dealer. They will ask you how much a month you’re willing to pay with the 4 squares paper. Tell them you are negotiating sales price first not monthlies. You should have a ballpark range from edmunds, nadaguides, and truecar. You’re aiming for below those numbers. It’s literally whatever you FEEL you are comfortable paying. There’s no scientific number that I have access to. The dealer knows how much he got the car for but nobody else does.

You should also know the incentives. Autobytel has those numbers. Don’t tell them about any certificates and recent grad/takata that you have. You’re negotiating solely on what the dealer is willing to give you not corporate right now.

Once YOU’RE satisfied with the selling price, then negotiate monthly payments WITHOUT changing the selling price. This includes MSDs. You will now negotiate MSD payments. This should be a straight up math calculation. You should know the MF and residuals so do the math yourself or ask for help here. They will also add fees. Be aware of the fees to the gross/net cap cost.

Come back here with these numbers.

MSRP of the car you want: (Window Sticker Price)
Selling price of the car (your negotiated price of the car)
Gross cap cost of the car (this is the selling price + all bullshit fees taxes etc)
Cap cost reductions (Money Down)
Money Factor (MF)
Residual (in %)
Term of your lease (months)
Mileage allotment (7.5K/10K/12K/15K…etc)
Please also ask on edmunds what the base MF and residual are.
If you are unsure of how to do this:

Google [Model Year] [Manufacturer] [Model] [Lease Edmunds]
For example 2017 Lexus ES350 Lease Edmunds

Make an account on edmunds using 10minutemail if you don’t want spam.

  1. Post your State, Mileage Allotment, Incentives, and Lease Term on that forum and wait for MF, incentives, and residual numbers.

Then once you come back here with the numbers someone will hopefully do an evaluation and then go back to the dealer.

SLAM down the certificates and recent grad/ takata.

There you go.

Man that 4 square worksheet is an updated version of the 3 card monte hehehe.
Where is the part where it says - “valid today only!!”
