Who's Getting Me A Lux 7 Seater for <$500 month/ tax-in :)

After lurking, researching, and attending the occasional roast on LH. The time has come that I ask for assistance on the return of our 2015 Lexus RC-Fsport and acquisition of a 7 seater SUV. Our family is expanding (waist-line wise) and need more room for our super-sized afflictions, such as 84oz cup holders and front seat tray tables… All jokes aside, my wife NEEDS a 7 seater, and I’ve been hitting the market for the Lexus GX, Yukon, and Tahoe. She doesn’t like the Durango because another family member has it. The Lexus LX 570 and Mercedes GL are priced by crack-heads, and I honestly haven’t looked at the Expedition or Navigator. So here’s the breakdown/NEED list:

  • 3rd Row with room for people w/ legs. No skeletor’s allowed.
  • Has to be of distinguished caliber. No Nissan or Toyota products.
  • Able to do max MSD’s with inceptions/fees paid up front.
  • Must be approx. $500 tax-in (our tax code is 6.5%)
  • Currently we’re on the Lexus waiver, and can be pulled ahead while absolving 3 months. Since I just paid a month, I can pay the remaining 2 months, but this has to be done with another Lexus product.

Vehicles of interest are actual SUV’s, not the crossover/mini-van looking one’s like the QX60, MKT, etc.

Lexus GX
Lexus LX
GMC Yukon
Chevy Tahoe
Cadillac Escalade (wife’s fantasy world) <-- good name for a porn site btw.
Audi Q7

P.S. The search function has yielded bits/pieces as to my inquiry. Some are outdated and would assume the numbers posted are now defunct. Therefore, hold your peanuts.

Thank you all in advance, gotta say that I love the LH family and have learned a great deal since joining. That being said, when I walked into the Lexus dealership today it was like walking into a test, I started to draw- not shoot, blanks as if the presence of cars is a kryptonite of sorts. Anything with an engine has always been a passion of mine, and I don’t see vehicles as a “point A to B” means. I view them as an extension or expression of a person. i.e. If you drive a Kia, odds are we won’t be friends.

Not to be douche especially after you stated your requirements so clearly. But many petrolheads would agree that a certain Toyota product is more SUV than most on your list.

Unlikely that any on your list would be even remotely close to $500. Except probably the stripped down versions of the Tahoe.

Good luck

Price-wise, I think only the GX and Tahoe possibly fit in your budget. Have you sat in the GX? Personally, I don’t think adults can fit in the 3rd row. So that leaves only the Tahoe from your list.

Supposedly the GX is a tough-one to get in under $500 total/month. I just saw a Tahoe SLT today with the 22" wheels and “Open-Sky” package. On a $67k vehicle the dealer was going down to $64k. Told him I needed to be at approx. 25% off MSRP for my numbers to work as GM Financial doesn’t allow MSD’s. Also, if someone can confirm, the GM sales manager also mentioned that the “tagged” vehicles can only be purchased, and not leased through GMFin.

I’m not sure what the RV and MF are on the GX currently, but a decently equipped one could have been had if you got ~10-13% off MSRP with max MSDs.

If you’re looking for super optioned out vehicles, I doubt you can get any from your list for $500 all-in. You really think GM will give you 25% off MSRP? Have you seen anyone report getting that discount or just coming up with numbers to make your $500 payment work?

Does anyone have contacts in the Florida or SE region willing to make a deal on the aforementioned models? I’ll purchase out of state if it makes sense to. Just don’t have any experience with that.

Just coming up with numbers according to the LH calculator to get those numbers to work. Also it doesn’t have to be a loaded vehicle. That’s just the one we worked some numbers on. The biggest requirements on the vehicle are Leather Seats and preferably ventilated. We don’t even use navigation, and I could care less about all the “safety” features and nannies. As a car should be driven, not enable one to be careless because they have the tech capabilities to aid them… If you rear-end someone these days, its most likely because you were distracted or eye-BALLS deep into your phone.

Edit: Has anyone received >10% off on a GX? Any dealer leads willing to do so?

Man the Durango is a nice SUV. The ones listed without some major incentives i doubt you will get your price. Good luck but especially in Florida you will need it.

Wrong… you can lease tagged vehicles.

Would you consider a GMC Acadia Denali? That can be had for your budget, no MSD’s but then you would not need them to get to the price you need. It is way nicer inside than the GX because it was no for the 17 model. All the other cars you are looking at are really really old and show it when you sit in them. For me, nowadays, luxury is all about the modern technology/Safety in the car as much as how much leather they can cram in. You wont find Android Auto or Apple Carplay in the GX or many of the other safety features found in newly designed cars.

I agree, I would’ve enjoyed the R/T, however the wife… Thanks for the well wishes

I figured that, but the sales manager at Coral Springs Automall was being pricky

After viewing your post/response to another thread recently, I looked at the Acadia Denali as well. The dealer I was at today had a loaded Acadia Denali like yours but FWD, and was a demo w/ approx. 2600 miles. However, he was only coming off the price $1k more for the demo, which I thought was comical. In addition, I felt the rear seats were a bit “tight” and left little room for cargo while up. Oh the kicker was when the MSRP was $49k and they weren’t budging more than 6% off. So unfortunately that won’t work.

After speaking with a gentleman at Lexus of Pembroke Pines and explaining my numbers/expectations, it seems that I may be able to get into a GX @ 36/12k and 58% RV based on approx. $55k MSRP for 12-3% off MSRP. That coupled with max 9 MSD’s brings these figures.

Anyone have insight, or did I just get a membership to Wifey’s Fantasy World. Also, those incentives are College Grad=$1k PGA=$1k Loyalty=$500 ($2,500) Thanks to @crispbacon for that.

Yes, 6% is the limit for most, although I got 10% plus $1,500 rebate off a $50k sticker price.

I agree, it is not as big as the Yukon etc,it is actually smaller than the outgoing old Acadia, now known as the limited. I would put in the same class as the X5 or Volvo in terms of size.

You are lucky your state does not tax incentives. CA does and always adds to the drive off.

Damn, that sucks. I always wonder why people live in CA… Wildfires, Water Droughts, San Andres Fault, North Korean Missile Range, EVERY DAMN THING TAXED and marked up, and then I remember; entertainment and technology hub…

and the Kardashians!

I was looking at a Kia Sorento (surprisingly nice cars in SXL format) and they had $6500 in rebate. Added $600 to the drive off. Kind of crazy!

Lol I was gonna say Kardashians, but they’re old news. That Kia rebate is nice, but Kia+Wife= No Bueno

No Sure, just get the Kia then and use her as part exchange

FYI, that is part of the reason we went GMC!
