It sure is. In the over 6000lbs club: my XC90 build is $71k, X5e build is $76k, Cayenne build is $105k. The superior customizability is only matched by its superior pricing on every single option.

i still don’t really understand the tangible benefit of the montana, or other state llc, when it comes to car flipping. low tax states you need residency right? can someone please explain what i’m missing?

Montana doesnt require you to have residency to set up the llc there, so people registrr the vehicle to the llc, avoiding tax. What they ignore is that most other states (i.e. the one theyre in) require the car ti be registered in that state if theyre not just there temporarily.

Essentially, montana doesn’t care about you setting up the registration there, but the state youre in often has an opinion. People tend to ignore that latter part.

I’m pretty sure I have started to read very poor legal and business advice in this thread.

I bet if you dig into it, even MT has laws that require businesses incorporating there to be bona fide businesses, and not just empty shells for the purpose of tax evasion.

To register in Montana is blatant tax evasion, possibly felony level, think about the numbers, 10% on a $200k car, that’s $20k lost, how are they not arresting these people?

Only reason I say this is because I play by the rules, as much as I don’t like them, and it’s not fair.

And people wonder why we have one of the highest incarceration rates in the world.

The other benefit of Montana, besides tax advantages, is no inspection requirement for the vehicle. If you have something, for example with the cats removed, Montana helps avoid those pesky environment regulations too.

Alaska is also a popular choice, for it’s lax business reg. and Fairbanks has no sales tax.

Alaska also requires no inspections.

There was a reddit thread yesterday about some lady wanted to have her landlord arrested and sent to jail to entering the home (that the landlord owns) to fix a maintenance issue… You seem to be friends with her.

right you have to pay taxes on the sale in the state in which it occurs and/or where you reside. so that’s where i’m getting tripped up.

obviously this tax stuff is not my forte but clearly people are using the loophole especially for exotic cars. it just seemed on a general flipper basis to be less than ideal.

An exotic car with a Montana plates is probably gonna attract attention. Not sure if someone registers a corolla on Montana, police are gonna care that much

Most people also aren’t aware of how much incarceration can really cost.

Guy is incarcerated for not paying tax (hindering tax revenue)…guy’s said incarceration is burning that same tax $$$$$$.

Hi, anyone has a lead into an agency or direclty regarding registering a new vehicle in Montana or Delaware to avoit paying taxes? Does it even makes sense for a sub 20k motorcycle?

Basically I am trying to re sell it but seems I am in FL I would have to pay that 7% +

Thanks
