I have just gotten word that BMW is going to be repurchasing my iX lease because the vehicle is somehow taking on water and they’re unable to remedy - effectively the vehicle is being classified as a lemon and so I’m exiting my '23 iX.
I’ve really enjoyed the vehicle other than the recent incident, but I look at this as a positive as the new leases on these are significantly more attractive than when I originally took it on. I’d love to get some thoughts on if there is something better or more attractive out there before just pulling the trigger on another iX.
Two things that do compel me towards it:
I really enjoyed the vehicle
BMW executive services told me that if I do go for another BMW they will send me a check for $2500 for added loyalty that’s separate from any deal I negotiate.
I’m also open to gas vehicles, but I feel like the electric incentives are just hard to beat at this point in time.
Might help if you clarify things like… are you looking for the “best” car in the same class as the iX (in terms of size and luxury, regardless of ICE or EV)?
Are you looking for the “best value” for a particular effective monthly?
Agree w/ @max_g that getting another iX (esp you know you like it) is probably a good (the best?) option…
For electric, I suggest the EQE or EQS if you want something similar with more comfort/luxury feeling. I currently have the EQS and had the iX too, can’t go wrong with either one (setting aside the random bugs/issues on both). The iX was more fun or enjoyable to drive if that’s your thing.
With the $2500 you are going to get, I don’t think it makes sense to look at cheaper EVs unless you want a much lower payment (again setting aside cost of tires on the IX and most likely higher insurance).
I had to go down the rabbit hole of getting a case manager assigned first because of my incidents via the i-team and then I got to executive services via case review.
Im currently Driving a 2024 Audi Q8 E-tron, I really like it very comfortable…
ive had it for a year so far and still getting 295-311 miles on full charge plus 2 years free charging
