Which cars have lowest insurance rates? (Car Insurance Hackr?)

After switching between leases and brands over the years I was surprised to see how much insurance premiums varied based on the car.

Recently I’m seeing even more variability with EVs. Would be interesting to start a discussion about which models have the lower insurance premiums and finding a sweet spot for best model/car with low insurance rates.

Some things I’ve noticed:

  • EVs are always higher due to high repair costs. (Tesla Model Y was higher than all my ICE and Nissan Ariyva was even higher than the MY)
  • Porsche 911 was surprisingly low (lower than a BMW 5-series)
  • Toyota’s have been the lowest I’ve seen so far, but this is a different class from the above two.

I was thinking of possibly switching soon too. Anyone know of a reliable website to do a comparison of a bunch of carriers? I know you’ll get spammed to death but it’s more of a pain in the ass to get a quote one carrier at a time…

I think they’re regional. Have to find someone in your area bc companies are diff all over
