As a side note, I am yet to get an initial lease worksheet from a dealer with correct taxes for my zip AFTER providing my zip.
My guess is it is the tax on the rebate.

When you just ask the dealer for a quote the taxes are often not quite correct on the first quote sheet they send you. Especially true if you’re shopping out of state.
Many are not going to waste time and effort trying to figure out the exact local taxes for a potential out-of-area customer (just to run a quote) until they’re more sure it will turn into a sale.
Not saying that is what is happening here (no idea) but it’s not uncommon.

Tax is the least of your worries here.
I got a much better deal from another Genesis dealer shortly after receiving this structure but didn’t have it in writing.
Only wanted to know what the tax item line from this structure entailed just for my knowledge and also to cross check that with the other deal I got.
