What's your favorite drink or cocktail?

As I’m sitting here enjoying my second Manhattan so far tonight, I’m curious what everyone else out there is drinking. What’s your favorite drink or cocktail? I’ll start and you’re welcome.

Custom Cocktail:

  1. Spray absinthe in glass and light match to seal flavor inside of glass.
  2. Base of your favorite bourbon. Since we’re mixing, I like Makers Mark.
  3. Add Yellow Chartreuse
  4. Touch of Vermouth
  5. Splash of Angostura bitters
  6. Enjoy with ice, preferably a large cube. Packs a nice punch.

Whisky, Mezcal, Armagnac neat

I do also make some good cocktails like margarita for the ladies and old fashioned but mostly a straight shooter.

If not tequila on the rocks

Mixed:
A nice single malt like a Balvenie, Macallan, or Oban (Glenlivet will do in a pinch) equal parts with Disaronno on a big rock hits the spot.

Neat:
Any of the above sans the Amaretto but in an older vintage.

I need to try this. I’ve had all the liquors you’ve mentioned but never mixed with Disaronno. I may need to mix one up right now as a matter of fact! Cheers!

Tequila on the rocks has been more and more popular with me especially when I’m out. Hits clean and doesn’t mess up my sleep. Ignoring the high end exotics, the Clase Azul and Don Julio 1942 are my favorites.

Agreed. The hangover for me is non existent with tequila or vodka but I only mix with water or soda water nothing with sugar

A buddy told me to try a “perfect” Manhattan. Tried ordering twice not my thing

Bourbon and scotch I like but only if I’m sipping on a couple nice and easy

Thoughts on Lagavulin 16?

Lagavulin 16 is fantastic, but their distiller’s editiion is even better.

For those that are also don julio fans, don julio does a special edition aged in lagavulin barrels

Damn! Doesn’t look like they have them around Nashville.

Reminds me of my discovery on our most recent trip to :mexico:

I was surprised at how much I actually liked it (whiskey/bourbon is my go-to).
