What would you buy for $10k?

Since there are no thumbnails, you should add some text describing what car it is.

Why post it on that site vs cars & bids for example? Seems like little activity going on there

No sellers fees + they add $250 on top of the final bid. I have a reserve set so if it doesn’t meet it, it’s not the end of the world. They claim to spend $1000 in marketing / advertising per auction

Finally found a new beater. Man, I’m definitely reminded why I hate shopping used vehicles. The market in the sub-$10k range is particularly difficult. Everyone thinks their vehicles are worth their weight in gold, and it is very difficult to find one in decent shape. The deals that are (potentially) good are scooped up in a matter of hours. I took some time from work to go get this today.

2010 Dodge Avenger, just over 99k miles. Guy was selling it for his mother (older and is no longer driving), who has owned it since 2011 at 12,xxx miles. Car has almost no rust, which is a gem to find in the Midwest. Nearly new tires. Pretty clean overall, other than a few bumps and bruises. He had it listed for $8k & got it for $5,600.

Found my beater, always loved the TSX Chasis. $5,000, 160,000 miles with tons of recent services including new battery, tires, and rotors. No driving issues- does have a new bumper but no signs of damage on the vehicle history report. Had this saved for weeks guy had it posted for $8,200- did a fire sale to me for $5,000- no rips or tears in the interior, just the usage dusty and dirty beater.

The best part it was only a 2-owner car and 25 mins from me. Gonna rag on this until i can find a decent cheap LR4/Range Rover/Cayenne after the market crash. I bid on like 5 cars on Cars&Bids but got lucky and got this.

Congrats…I’m also on the lookout for a LR3 / 4 or perhaps a RR. Have my eye on a few, sadly or perhaps a good thing I only have one parking spot which keeps me from having a fleet like @drdvrgs or others on here

Flipped an LR3 for too cheap last winter, biggest regret right now. Didn’t realize how amazing and bulletproof a 4.4 HSE LR3 with maintenance or an LR4 with timing chain replacement maintenance is.

I only have 1 parking
I leave them at my moms house :joy:

Bulletproof and landrover in the same sentence feels wrong.

Agreed, but after doing a 2 year stint in a Land Rover dealer, I was shown the right path to JLR ownership.

Good buy. I sold my beater for $2,300. Same car, different color…just over 93,000 miles. I bought it a couple of years ago for $1,500. It started to rust to hell compared to that one, though, which is why I got rid of it.
