I have some news for you- buying a $200K car will never be low cost ownership. Just your cost of money is about $800/ month vs risk free treasuries. Have you looked into leasing an SL55 or SL63?
R8 or a Porsche gt4rs or a gt3 or older gt3rs would be the safe bets. Higher mileage huracan maybe.
I’d gamble on a McLaren 720s or maybe a portofino. If you want something more exciting.
This more of a weekend cruiser or a canyon attacking car for the excitement?
Thanks everyone for the comments. A good friend, who has a huge collection of supercars, has convinced me to go upmarket. I’ve identified the target make/model and I’ll probably spend weeks searching for the right car. I’ll update this thread if/when I find it.
I had the choice of allocations for a 992.2GTS and 992.2 4GTS at MSRP and decided to get a CPO 992.1GTS for this reason. Not only is the market not too hot on the 992.2, but it seems like every day there is a new flood of barely used units entering the market. the .1 appears to he holding strong but the .2 can easily be had at MSRP. Given how the 911 market is generally, that isn’t a good sign, as you correctly pointed out.
