Good morning, I live in Oregon state.
I have a question. I have one of the last 2 2024 Barcelona red TRD off-road premium 4Runners coming into my dealership sometime this week.
The base MSRP on it is 47,130.00
They had to add a $1,450.00 processing and delivery fee. Bringing that price up to 48,580
It has the moonroof package the premium package and the wilderness package which total 2,024
Brings the total advertised price up to $49,804 So this is the total they put on paper that they want for price.
Can anyone tell me how much I could expect to maybe dicker and get them to come down a little bit on price? Or is this a good deal?
I am seeing a lot of 4runners that are used with low miles that are this expensive or more.
Also seeing brand new ones just not in the colors I was wanting for more.
Thanks for any information much appreciated! Lori
I put a 1000.00 on it until it gets here. I can back out if for some reason I don’t like it. The paperwork they printed and gave to me is what they said they wanted for it. I will still have to pay license and registration in my state. That is everything that I included above in my post.
The prices that I posted above are what we have on paper for it. That’s what the dealer said they want for it. I will of course have to pay license and registration for my state on top of that.
when it is a ‘allocation’ which is similar to a special order, if you try to dicker with them they will just sell it to someone else.
The rule / law is, you don’t own the car until you sign paperwork that shows it. Otherwise they are free to sell your car from under you and you have no rights other than a possible deposit refund.
There is a small chance you can ask for a discount before the truck arrives, but ask nicely, don’t force it. But please remember it is still their truck even if you put a deposit on it.
This is so helpful, and what I assumed with this situation. This is the last of the 5th generation 4Runners before the 6th generation 2025s start coming in. There are not many left and there’s probably quite a few people that are not willing to buy the 6th generation right off the top due to possible issues so they are all clamoring to get the last of the 2024s
Thank you for responding
Lori
Only reason to get this today would be because you want to own it forever, IMO, which case some small amount like $500-$1,000 shouldn’t make or break your deal. Pay sticker instead of dickering.
In any case the time for negotiations was when you ordered it. Now you have no leverage. Whether the dealer says it or not, they’re thinking “what are you going to do, walk away?”
Thank you this information does help me a lot.
I’ve never ordered a vehicle or had one brought in from another state like this so it’s new territory to me. What they quoted to me when I put the money down on it sounded very fair compared to everything else I was seeing out there. So I went forward with that knowing that if I wanted a new 2024 in that color I had to jump on it right then and there. It will be a car that will stay in the family for a long time so it’s going to be valuable to me in many ways.
