I’m looking at a 2023 E450 4Matic Sedan at a socal dealer. MSRP is $78,xxx. Was wondering what should be my maximum bid price. Had a look at Edmunds but the range is quite wide
What’s your ideal build? Because let’s say a 9% discount is achievable today on a 23 e450. Well 9% off 70k is going to be a lot cheaper than 9% off 78k.
I was recently shopping in this segment and the fluff inside inflated build sheets is kinda insane.
You are right, but unless you go for a custom order you cannot avoid it. And I believe it’s more difficult to negotiate the price on a custom order va something in stock that they want to get rid off
Not a custom build. Just minimize the fluff and find the lowest MSRP builds that include stuff you actually want.
That’s where I am and hence the question on what my maximum bid should be… You say 9% off is a good point?
450 sedans are pretty rare. If youre looking for an all terrain theres a lot of inventory. Im sure you could find someone willing to do 10% off
Where would you find a dealership that would discount E-Class $7,000 - $8,000?
By emailing? No clue if its possible. Theres a few wagons approaching lot birthdays in CA though
They used to in So Cal at least. Pre covid had family get 11k off a new ~65k msrp e class.
Pricing from 3 years ago has little to no relevance today.
I’ve seen 10% off in the Marketplace for 2023 E350s.
As someone mentioned earlier the 450 is much rarer but I don’t think the supply/demand equation is much better for the sellers.
When I was helping someone buy a 2021 CPO E-class, looked at both. My impression is that the 450 market is pretty soft and most options retain 0 value. Like a $70k build is priced on the used market for the same as a $77k build. Those extra $7k options retained literally 0 value.
any luck with this? I just drove the car for the first time and find 1 car at each of local 5 dealers. They are swimming in E350s however
So which car is the one that each dealer just has one each?
hey sorry, meant E350s, corrected above
