I custom ordered BMW 5 series, I already see 2022 5 series hitting dealership, and quick search on VIN numbers for orders arriving soon from BMW inventory, they are in last stage of getting delivered.
I wanted to know how much time will it take for my 2022 build, if i have Production number already.
I think OP is wanting to know the general time frame from order to delivery at the dealership. Their comment about “last stages of getting delivered” for other cars make me believe they already know how to track it.
OP - 6-8 weeks would be a good estimate from the time your vehicle goes to “Production begins” stage. This is also assuming there are no recalls/stop sales that impact your vehicle (2022s are not being affected at this moment).
I ordered a 2022 M550, with a higher trim with the B&W stereo etc on June 17. The production slot I got was for the 2nd week in July. It just got to the port of New York yesterday so it was fast from when it started the build to landing stateside - only spent 3 days at the port of Bremerhaven in Germany so I got lucky given the ports are backed up. Should have it in my hands within a week if the Vehicle Processing Center at the port doesn’t have corrections to do (they do a final quality check).
Not that it is terribly pertinent to a BMW order, but Porsche is approximately 10-12 weeks from order to delivery. An order placed a couple of weeks ago has an advised delivery of the beginning of October. That is one of the first time I have heard of/seen a ETA at the time of ordering… usually an estimated delivery date isn’t advised until production progresses (or at least that is when the dealer advises).
Too many factors. I ordered a fully specced M550i on July 2nd and the production week is August 23rd. That means 7.5 weeks to just start production at this point.
