What Discount should I expect on a 2018 Lincoln MKZ AWD Reserve?

Trying to help my father with a new vehicle and it’s tough because I just don’t follow Lincoln vehicles.

MSRP is $49,760

Dealer’s initial offer was a $2,400 discount. Dealer advised rebates are $3,250.

Requested numbers for a 36 month/ 10,500 miles per year lease. Edmunds has the residual at 55% and interest rate at 3.5%

Initial quote was $0 at signing and $679 a month. BUT, that included extras of $1000 for appearance and dent protection. There is also a $600 freight charge since there are no AWD vehicles in my area of Florida within 300 miles. I can use the calculator for the numbers, but my real concern is what % off of the msrp should I be shooting for since this is a vehicle I can’t just go down the street and lease elsewhere.

Any advice is appreciated.

When I was car shopping I used truecar to get an idea of what kind of discounts to be shooting for…I personally think there’s much more dealer discount to be had in this deal, but that’s just based off looking at the numbers.

Have you considered anything RWD such as MB, BMW, Infiniti, Lexus, etc?

I’ve tried, but he’s 82 and wants a car that can be serviced locally when he’s “in the mountains”. Also likes American cars…there are some of these guys left. That limits me to Lincoln and Buick…

Aren’t discounts in the range of 8-12 % off MSRP plus any rebates what leasehackrs shoot for ?

By the way I saw MF’s(actually APR’s) and 15k/yr residuals for Pennsylvania over on Edmunds forum. If you could negotiate a selling price at 10% off MSRP with the rebates you stated at 15k/yr miles you’d be looking at ballpark around $500/month plus taxes plus drive offs.

Haha now I’m even more confused…where are these “mountains” close to Florida?

So AWD is a must?

PS Are you sure you want your 82 yr old dad in a 400hp twin turbo car with 4.8 second 0-60 and 13.x in the qtr?

Western North Carolina. AWD is required.

I’d rather him on his own in that car than in an in-law suite in my house. It still won’t go above 65 on the Interstate.

Thanks for the help leakrs. Just needed to confirm my suspicions.
