What did you like most about your dealer?

I have spoken with and contacted over two dozen dealerships when I was shopping to replace my GLC. I want to say what I liked most about Porsche dealer where I ultimately picked up my car.
I had only 2 conversations with GM, who reached out to me and spoke with me personally.
We spoke less than 20 minutes total.
I had no intention to lease a car from them, they didn’t have a base Macan with least options.
But I ended up getting the car from them. More expensive, loaded car that I had no intention to sign on. I appreciated transparency. When I told dealer what I was looking for he didn’t smirk or pretend he was busy with other customers. He explained to me why the deal he offered was the best he could do (went to specifics and details during our last call before pick up).
There was no bait and switch, everything he said was honored. We spoke and discussed cars over the phone (including my GLC, which he committed to buy from me without personal inspection, relying on what I honestly disclosed him about my car).
Overall, it was a great experience, the best I have had so far, and I have dealt with many dealers in 20+ years. I knew I could push more, get more discounts and call other dealers to get even better offer, but I decided to reward this store with my purchase, as we agreed, because they made it so much easier for me to close the deal. I even paid extra I bought a 20K service (something I have never done before).

That they weren’t selling Teslas so they actually provided good service.

I used a @Jeff_BeachCitiesAuto. All communication was through text messages. Salesperson at the dealership was nice but all business. Finance guy hardly said a word to me. Who knows, if he asked me nicely, I would have also bought $20,000 worth of services.

My dealer threatened to strangle me today because I canceled an m240i order that took around 6 months to arrive. I love getting strangled!

Take a shot every time @Eric51 mentions his GLC
Take two shots every time he mentions his new Porsche

best experiences I have had was where there was no BS, clear communication while negotiation(not necessarily easy), and no long drawn out process. I dislike the guys who act like they’re not marking up MF, bank fee, etc because all the info is out there.

Top one come to mind was getting my $130~ Malibu back in…2016? Easy process, back and forth with new car sales manager a few times and solidified a deal over email. Assigned a salesperson he didn’t try to pull anything and easy 10 minute process in F&I.

worst was coming close on a 530e a few years back and the dealer backed out because of FOLP. Seriously had everything lined up with something like 20% off on a loaner, buy rate MF, yada yada and then he reads the lease payment over the phone and says I can’t do it at that price. DUDE!!

That’s just a negotiation tactic

I mean considering that BMW brokers were telling me that my first car deal with this dealer was not replicable, worth it! He offered me an M8 but only 10% discount… I would have screamed choke me harder daddy if it was 75% off!

Is this a sponsored ad? It’s just missing the name of the dealership…

The deal is not replicable, he protects the GM.

In all fairness, I think I personally could get this car with 10% off (I received 9.75% discount off MSRP), especially if I didn’t have a car to trade. When you trade most high end brand dealers try to lowball you with under CarMax offer, “because they have to install new tires and (possibly) change the break pads”, yada yada, and forget about CarMax being a wholesale buyer who already took into consideration those costs and is not buying from you at retail price, but buys with intention to put it for sale and profit from it. This dealer off the bat offered to and paid full pay-off amount (which was $16 above CarMax), with no back and forth and haggling. I liked that GM, he wasn’t being sleek and assuming I was a fool. A rare find these days. FYI, I did cars dot com search on my GLC, it was retailing at least $3700 above the CarMax with clean title/no accidents reported and comparable mileage. So, I knew my car’s value and had no intention to give it up for under CarMax appraisal, can’t entice me with tax credit which is offset by lowballing my ride. But, just to be clear, trading in leased MB makes it more hassle and haggle to get a new car.
I know brokers here offer the car with 11% off, which I think is the invoice price (and after you pay the broker fee it’s more like 10.5% discount without transportation costs added, if they deliver what they post on a spreadsheet for a brand new, not a loaner car). But they didn’t have a color combination I wanted, it was more like “this is what we have, take or leave it”. Besides, I had to chase them for a deal and wait for weeks for them to respond to emails (their way of telling me I am a difficult customer and they would rather close easy leads).
So, under the circumstances I think I did pretty good for myself, I have got what I am happy with and had seamless transaction (sometimes good mood and experience is worth more than extra few hundreds of dollars you can save).

As I’ve said before:

You are going in circles with the same information, ease off.

I can’t help it if you are pissed just because I am a thinking human (not a tool) who posts his thoughts on a public forum.

You replied to my post, no? And I’m pissed? lol
You are annoying, that’s for sure.

No finger pointing, but this is the thread I have created and you are the one who replied to it by posting here. I know it annoys you that I am not a tool LOL
