What dealers lease for Uber /lyft drivers?

Trying to help a friend out that drives lyft. Subaru told her they won’t lease to lyft drivers. Anyone know what companies do ?

Why won’t they? As long as you have verifiable income and a good credit score most places will finance anyone. Where do they drive Uber anyway? Full or part time? From personal experience even a high mileage lease from a conventional dealership isn’t going to cut it driving full time for hire. If they drive in a big enough market usually there are turnkey solutions that include the vehicle, insurance, etc in one weekly payment. Uber offers their own Vehicle solutions service, but if you have good credit you are probably better off finding your own options, as theirs get pretty expensive.

Ya it didn’t really make sense to me. She only does it part time like 3k a year. They said no Subaru will do it because it’s high risk on wear and tear. Then they said they would do it with a co signer. They already leased her a car two years ago but now won’t do it.

Does she have other employment? It sounds like credit could be an issue if they are looking for a cosigner. Unless it’s specifically for an Uber related promotion or special rebate like Kia and Hyundai offer, it’s none of anyone’s business what they are going to use the car for. Your insurance company is a whole other matter. Then again, something tells me that Subie head gaskets and CVTs aren’t really suited for stop and go taxi duty on any long term basis. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Subaru taxi or Uber.

I think her income like 20k or something but the car she is getting is like 22k lol. They approved her two years ago by herself last year. I told her that it’s none their business and just to go to another dealer and not tell them what it’s used for

She doesn’t even need to tell them. I rent my car and the dealership has no idea nor will they ever find out

I doubt they care about the lease. More likely it’s either credit rating, or possibly insurance necessary for the lease won’t cover it.

The majority of leasing companies do not have a clause that bars ride sharing service, however MOST do have verbiage restricting renting out leased car on platforms such as Turo

With that being said, your friend has no obligation to put driver for Uber on the credit app if her primary income if from a regular W-2 income job

I think your friend was thinking of the old Uber Lease with unlimited miles…they got rid of that program 3 months ago.

So leasing when you are a taxi service is not the smartest thing to do.
