Weirdest things said by dealers "You're still important to us."

Because I like you and want to give my business to you

In this situation, I usually tell the dealer that I had a bad experience with the other dealer before, but that I have heard good things about them.

But I do :man_shrugging:

It’s a form of modern day Feudalism. Kings may nominally rule the land but they rely on their Lords and Barons to keep the population under control in their designated territories. The status quo is simply easier to maintain since that’s the way many of the individual dealerships like it.

Just remember everyone the fools who falls for these games subsidize you and me. We wouldn’t get great deals without them.

Did you get yourself a replacement, or what came of it?

The “Make Unknown M” is my CarBravo request for a quote on the car I currently own. Their CRM doesn’t seem to recognize I was looking to sell rather than buy.

The funny thing is those are messages from the real dude, not automated ones. I sent him a couple intro emails which he confidently responded with incorrect information, along with his first proposition to come in. at which point i let him know i was not continuing. Every message since then has been a variant of asking me to come in, no matter what my response is
