I’m currently in a 4xe Sahara, and I’ve really liked the experience but have missed being in a luxury SUV, so going into another Jeep would be a tough sell for me. Most of the deals I’m seeing are on EVs or PHEVs, but I believe that tax credit ends on 12/31.
So, I’m wondering if I should just eat the next few months of payments and jump aboard the Volvo craze before the end of the year, wait for something else to pop up next month, or just ride it out until Spring and keep my fingers crossed that something looks good around then.
I know there’s no crystal ball, but is there anything I’m missing in my strategizing? Any other brands that Jeep would activate loyalty for? I have Costco, perfect credit, and MSDs are no problem – but I’m in the South, and in a state that doesn’t tend to do great deals (minus the 4xe run). I’ve traveled out of state (to Texas) for a lease previously. This is when I’m really missing Clutch…
Volvo deals are amazing right now. I just picked one up tonight. I heard that if you pay your remaining payment on the Jeep and hand it in early they take it to auction and send you a bill for the difference. Don’t quote me on that. Maybe others will chime in and confirm. I have a 4xe as with 6 months left and trying to plan the same thing.
Yeah, I’d probably hang onto it until the end even if I snag something new. If I can stretch things out until the end of December, I’d really only have 3 Jeep payments left… not ideal, but I’d imagine eating the payments would be better than that auction difference. If only the 4xe order hadn’t sat at the port forever after being ready, it would probably be two payments left.
I’m intrigued by the Volvo, it checks a lot of my boxes – glad to hear you grabbed one. XC90 is a bit bigger than I wanted, but I don’t care enough to skip it. Definitely not picky beyond wanting comfort and a low payment.
