So many jokes about people who drive both of those lol
They never really went there. Average leasers always paid 450-500+ for a 3 series. Only hackers paid 225-350 for 3 series, and maybe some employees, but usually employees always commented on my BMW deals how it’s the best they have seen…
But it’s smart to incentivize people into your base model car. Bc people are brand loyal and will spend more next time.

A drop in inventory doesn’t happen like that cuz of demand.
I’m just saying roughly around the same number of people exist today as they did last year but there’s just more money circulating in the markets (stimulus packages). Some people now have a means to buy that product that really wanted to buy but couldn’t before.
From the first article:
“Auto dealers and parts stores are the dominant retail segment, accounting for over 20% of total retail sales”
From the second article:
“The historic stimulus from $5 trillion in government deficit-spending and from $4 trillion in Fed money-printing within a 16 month period resulted in a historic spike in consumer spending on goods. When the demand shock hit retailers and other companies, they were suddenly confronted with a multi-layered supply shock – after decades of corporate efforts to tighten “lean inventory” strategies ever further, all the way up the supply chain. And there was no buffer for the disruptions.”

Again, i am not saying that extra money didn’t create inflation or an increased demand, but what i am saying is that such significant shortages can’t be all attributable to spike in demand ONLY.
Both reasons don’t have to be mutually exclusive.
F cars needed to go, so you had between 5-10K in rebates being thrown at them.

Excellent take, and I like ‘lean inventory’, which adds to my ‘meat on the bone’ metaphor. Unless you are the government (or the Pentagon), where you can print your money, the rest of us run on margins, and folks ‘scramble for scraps’ until there is only bone left, then we see if anyone will buy the bones.
It’s all just part of the great reset. No worries, we will build back better. Then after that you will “own nothing and be happy”. Don’t worry the power elite always has our best interest in mind. Just remember, never let a good crisis go to waste.
My 2019 Taco lease is up on 9/17. I’m going to extend it 6 months.
Did you call and ask? I’ve heard of some people getting denied extensions or only getting a month or 2. If I had a taco I would def extend as long as possible, if you pay what I think you do.
I have a little while to go (05/22) till i have to make a decision on it. But i might do that…

some people getting denied extensions
Damn they want those cars back so badly?
I called last month & they said no problem. 6 month extension. Month to month.
That’s TFS correct?
Yes. TFS Lease.

There’s nothing more permanent than a temporary government program
Those are probably ready to deliver units that are just waiting for the buyers thay ordered them to come pick them up.
GM is horrible, We went to buy our lease out since new Yukons where 5k over. Dealer tried to charge me $600 made up fee to get me a loan. Went to another GM dealer and same exact BS…
You can buy out Your lease directly from the bank, why to involve dealer? are You in FL?
Perhaps, but they bought/leased an old CDJR dealership for this purpose, when there are far cheaper auto storage lots available. I’ll try to grab some pics…it is odd to see a lot full of Tesla’s, for sure.
