Totally agree with you. My ideal seating configuration is a 7 seater with a 3 passenger middle row, and 2 passenger 3rd row. Both of the seats in the 3rd row should be completely removable(not just fold flat), and at least the middle seat in the middle row should be removable(not just fold flat). That way I can have “captains chairs” level of comfort for everyone for the overwhelming majority of drives that are <= 4 people. And also tons of storage space. On the rare occasions when I have more than 4 people I need to drive then I can easily put the removable seats back in to take the capacity back up to 7.
