Want to lease a bmw, which models lease best?

,

id like to get into a 6 cylinder(40i) x drive bmw. i’d like to either get m340i x drive, x3 40iM, or m package 540i x drive. Generally speaking which leases best? im thinking the 5 series most likely. but i really like the x340m. I’m in NY and would really like to be under 600 a month after taxes.

just want to get everyone’s idea on what to try to pursue.

Look in the marketplace, and if you haven’t driven the vehicles, you need to know what each is like. You’re looking at three different cars and platforms.

In a normal environment all 3 of these can be had within your price range.
As to which car is the best value at the time, the answer you are after is a moving target. There are a lot of variables from the bmw lease programs (set monthly) which provide money factors, residuals and incentives. To the msrp discounts one can get based on supply demand. For example m40s and m340 are almost impossible to get. You might find them in the 5–10% discount range while the 540 now is at 11-12%. But this should change given enough time and production ramps up…
Then there is the subjective element of what value do these cars bring to you. Is a 5 series over priced relative to the others bc you don’t need a luxury cruiser. Does an x3 for the same monthly offer you more utility / value.

everything up to the subjective part you can entirely answer by doing some research on here. You don’t even need to go to Edmunds for the lease programs, the good broker sheets like Dan’s @nextlevelautobrokers or quentin @nyclife will have all the details you need.

X3 and 340 has the newer variation of the engine, just to make sure you realize that. Even with M package, 540i isn’t really sporty. Wait to get a M340 deal under $600 is probably the best choice

@NurseAl, any comments?

M340’s that pop up on LH recently are usually gone in a day, and you can’t be too picky about it… 2021’s won’t start showing up till later this month(?) or next month at the earliest… I think @nextlevelautobrokers was advertising 2021 build slots with nice numbers on them… OP may want to reach out to him.

Generally speaking, OP listed those 3 vehicles and a price target under $600 AFTER NY taxes.

Difficult to judge because mileage isn’t mentioned, Loyalty / Corporate status, or whether he wants to put down MSDs. MSRP also varies widely.

Roughly, he would need to increase his budget by $100+ a month to get those vehicles if he wants a true $0 down lease with everything rolled in. Nothing is going to come in the $500s per month range unless he pays significant inception fees at signing.

The one you are happy driving and happy with payment.
