When you stop by the dealer like that and ask them for a quote all you’re doing is asking them how much they want you pay.

Don’t stop by dealers. Just call or email them with the offer you put together. If they can meet your numbers, tell them you’ll be there to pick up the car that day. Saves you a lot of time and allows you to expand your search.

I’m going to do that going forward. They keep asking me to physically come in and I can see how this is a waste of gas.
