VW e-Golf lease - am I missing something?

Hello all,

I am looking to lease a 2019 e-Golf in the next few weeks but I want to confirm my understanding first. I am looking at the recommended discounts, MF from Edmunds, and incentives and getting a monthly payment of $171 with tax (link below to calculator) with $0 DAS. Based on my calculations, for a 24-month lease, the net payment after California rebates would be about $67. Am I missing something? Otherwise this seems like a great deal.

Here’s the link to my calculations: leasehackr.com/calculator?make=Volkswagen&miles=12000&msd=0&msrp=33575&sales_price=23575&months=24&mf=0.00001&dp=0&dealer_fee=85&acq_fee=675&taxed_inc=8000&untaxed_inc=0&rebate=0&resP=41&reg_fee=400&sales_tax=8.5&demo_mileage=0&memo=&zero_driveoff=true&monthlyTax_radio=true

Note: my estimates for savings off MSRP is based on research on this site as well as Edmunds. I also assumed that I will qualify for at least the $500 partner program if not the college grad rebate as well.

Thanks for the help!

Your numbers are totally wrong. You won’t get such a big discount before the incentives. Also, you need at least a 30 month lease to qualify for the CA rebate.

Got it - thanks. I’m glad I asked. I was following this link (which was posted in another Leasehackr forum): https://slickdeals.net/f/13163326-21-000-off-msrp-2019-volkswagen-egolf-w-driver-s-assistance-package-125-mile-epa-range-final-price-10-000-13-500.

Is this pricing no longer valid?

You don’t qualify for the same incentives on a lease as a purchase. Need to use lease incentives.

Understood. So, is this Edmunds website effectively double-counting the incentive? I’m not trying to be thick - just trying to understand since I’m relatively new at this.

Thanks for all the help!

Ignore the Edmunds website like that. What you want to use from Edmunds is the model specific forums where you post asking for RV/MF/incentives for your zip.

This is the best bet for confirming what incentives apply to the lease and which don’t.

You can get @rubbergash’s lease deal or use it as a guide to negotiate a deal at one of your local dealers.

I see now where I got confused. I read the posts discussing the $10K plus $7.5K as lease deals, but they are purchase. Thanks again for the help.
