Vroom > Carvana Quote but review experiences on Vroom looks 50/50

Got a quote for my lease on a Mazda 2018 CX9 29K miles from both Vroom and Carvana with Vroom being higher.

My research on both vendors however has me weary on Vroom, specifically because some of the transactions are FED EX overnights and some horror stories about not getting their check over a month, some 3 months.

Anyone recently sell their Chase Lease through Vroom? Carvana’s online process seems much safer, especially since they pay you the day of the pickup.

Not a lease but financed car thru Chase. Happened pretty much like they said it would within 3-4 days.

I think Sold to Vroom thread is a better place to look.

I sold my Mazda Chase lease to Shift. Seamless process. It was a few hundred less than Vroom, but the $200 same day pickup bonus and $100 referral credit nearly made up for the difference. Didn’t want to gamble with selling to Vroom; tried buying a used car through them and it was a horrible experience.

Vroom is just awful. I’ve used both vroom and Carvana.

Vroom had issues with my contract, brought the car on a black out date, gave me only one key fob after posting a picture clearly showing 2, took my trade in and are currently selling it with one fob when I gave them two (just shady) and a mountain of other contract F ups and delivery delays. Carvana was 1000% better.

Thanks fellas for the feedback! Michael I haven’t tried shift, is there process all online? Let me check what their quote is.

Vroom is no longer accepting leases ….

What oh wow I didn’t know that. Any reason why?

It’s seems they don’t have enough resources and man power to process lease buyout’s anymore.

I just found out Shift doesnt operate in the state of Connecticut or at least in my zip code in CT, SOL.

DO NOT SELL THE VROOM! It took them 15 days to pay off my car after they picked it up and that was 25 days after I signed the bills of sale. Long story short it caused a late payment for me and Chrysler capital closed out my account with a 30 day late and hit my credit…

One should always continue to make payments until the account shows as closed out

I learned the hard way :sob:

Yeah I usually do, but Chrysler capital told me my account was “on hold”
Turns out it wasn’t….

Look at Algo. I am in CT as well and have sold 2 cars to them this year (one of which was a lease). They were the highest offer on both and the process couldn’t have been easier.

I would also check out CarMax if you have one near you. You can get a quote online as well.

Vroom is awful in many aspects. Just avoid them.

Nice, what was the process? I got quoted 27,900 from both Carmax and Algo.

Edit - I just called Algo, they sound very confident in their process, 3-4 days turn around time, 5-7 business days for Chase Auto to do their thing.

Can you give me some feedback on your lease sell experience with them?

I had quoted a wrangler 4xe on vroom 2 weeks ago just for fun. Monday of this week I quoted my grand cherokee to actually sell it to them. I started the process today to sell the grand cherokee, uploaded my license/reg/odometer and was waiting for their docusign paperwork. It came over a few hours later but was filled out with the wrangler! It had the wranglers VIN, the sell price of the wrangler, but the loan balance and odometer of the grand cherokee. My grand cherokee is now listed as “in process to sell” and the wrangler 4xe quote is still “expired”

If this is what I have to look forward to I’ll just take the slightly lower payout of carmax but the insanely more convenient process of driving my car there (15 minutes away) and walking away from it with a check the same day.

Thanks for the experience, im going to skip zoom and use Algo!

So just an update, I did the super fast virtual walk through with Algo, literally 5 minutes. He called me back 15 minutes later with an updated offer, docusign paperwork and scheduled pick up is next. So far its going smooth.
