Volvo XC40 Recharge

Has anyone had any luck getting dealers to discount the Volvo XC40 Recharge? I see a ton on inventory in NorCal but the dealers I’ve reached out to are basically selling the thing at MSRP, not counting the standard rebates (Fed tax credit, CCAR, Loyalty, A Plan). Do I just have to wait until these cars sit on the lot for awhile?

Looks like Recharge is not eligible for a-plan. Nor are any Hybrids. Volvo changed what they show there - now it is only rebate amounts and no other numbers.

If a car isn’t offered in the Marketplace, you can basically forget about it right now.

Man what a disappointment. The market seems to have permanently shifted for the worse.

Just saw that Costco members get $2,000 incentives.
It’s too new and with chip shortage, they probably won’t give any big discount anytime soon.

This caught my eye too but I couldn’t find the XC40 Recharge on any of the broker’s sheets. Best I can hope for is the Costco $2k and the $7500 tax credit plus no sales tax in NJ. The XC40 won’t be eligible for any increase in the tax credit unless they start making them in SC.

Oh I just noticed that, so the current $500 to XC60 does not apply to XC60 RECHARGE? But my dealer said costco $1250 can be applied to XC60 Recharge…

I just got response from a-plan customer support that XC60 hybrid is also good for the $500

I’m waiting for someone here to pull an XC40 deal, but I didn’t have much luck talking to a few dealers on June 1. In another thread @aronchi said they are going for over sticker, and with .00193/52% I don’t see anyone posting any great deals this month.

Costco applies on XC60, has nothing to do with a-plan. A-plan still does not show Recharge option.

your statement is true… that does not show recharge option. but current $500 a-plan for XC60 applies to XC60 T8 Recharge

This is XC40 Recharge (EV) thread, BTW

I am considering the XC40 Recharge after seeing the Costco rebate, which indicates to me that deals may be better than expected.

I’m not a typical Volvo customer so if pricing is at Tesla/BMW levels after all discounts and rebates I’m more likely to stick with one of those brands. It’s a major question mark to me what the XC40 Recharge would cost to lease, especially since local dealers seem to have plenty of stock.

Doesn’t hurt to shop around and see what dealers sell them for. Then you have all the numbers to calculate your lease.

For rough numbers on a

36/10 $0 DAS, no MSD, $59k MSRP

(discount from MSRP, assumes costco and no loyalty/affinity:
0%: $743/mo
5%: $653/mo
10%: 563/

Adjust accordingly for your situation. I saw these and after hearing not to expect any discounting I didn’t pursue it further.

I would buy a Model Y before I touched those numbers.

You can reduce these monthlies by $50 for CA residents who get the $1500 CCFR

In the market for a XC40 Recharge in the Los Angeles area. I can confirm that the dealers around here are charging msrp. Santa Monica Volvo is charging over msrp.
I’m not getting anywhere on price. I have the Costco $2k certificate in hand, but the dealers so far act as if the discount belongs to them, not me. Same goes for the $1.5k California rebate.

They also charge more than everyone else in socal.

Culver City and Rusnak, in my experience, are you best options in the LA area.

Edmunds shows 340 available around LA right now - more than gas models available. Electric cars available but gas cars short supply? Guess I’ll wait and see how much dust accumulates.
