Volvo was rear ended. What happens if i dont use a certified shop?

I was rear ended last week and other drivers insurance accepted full liability. I spoke with Volvo Financial and they tell me that I must use a Volvo certified shop and OEM parts. None of the shops in the insurance companies list are certified shops but I can use my own - except if they cant come to an agreement on price I pay the difference. So what happens if I don’t use a certified shop?

There is no requirement to use a Volvo certified shop. The OEM parts requirement might be enforceable.

As long as it’s repaired properly, they cannot hold you to use ‘their shops’

Your insurance company should refer you to a shop that they endorse, though you can use any shop.

Here’s the list of certified shops if you want to be ‘following their instructions’

Nothing happens, as forbs mentioned above, as long as it is fixed right.

You turn the car in at lease end like any other lease. Outside of yourself, the insurance company, and the body shop no one will know any difference whether it was fixed at a “certified” shop or not.

You don’t have to remain confined to this list.
