Looks like Volvo Thousand Oaks closed. Interesting. They were working out of a small trailer like building but I thought a new dealership was being built for them.
Strange time to close with volvo producing a lot of new exciting products wonder what happened.
Wow, that is pretty surprising. The one in Calabasas closed a few years back as well. You’d think they’d be able to succeed in both areas. Very odd.
One in Brooklyn recently closed as well
The products are exciting for people like you and me, but the volumes are probably small. Volvo doesn’t produce/sell enough in the US to justify all these dealers who sell nothing else.
Yes it is disappointing. 2 years ago one of the Autonation Volvo dealerships in Orange County closed as well. Volvo has invested in revamping their cars but the dealerships looks so old and dated that even Honda and Toyota dealerships looks like a luxury car dealership in comparison. Not sure if Volvo is doing anything to help there.
I bought XC90 2 years ago and love it. However, visiting the dealership and their customer service doesn’t compare to BMW (my other car). Also their S90 and S60 are priced very high and at that price point people just prefer German cars. Volvo is doing good in SUV segment but sedan category is struggling like rest of the industry.
Also slightly disappointed that volvo’s complimentary service really only includes oil change. The dealers are charging close to $50 for a tire rotation. No loaners available either but they will uber you back home (prefer a loaner). Not very luxury.
I leased a S 90 from this dealership about four months ago. It was a loaner and they were desperate to get rid of it along with another loaner. I guess I see where they were so desperate to move their loaner vehicles out. 350 a month with zero due at signing
Volvo Calabasas re-opened. I think it is a different owner then the thousand oaks one.
