I will return my 17’ S90 in 6 month. It currently has a malfunctioned child lock (covered by warrenty). I went in last time and dealer ordered opposite side lock assembly so hasn’t fixed it yet. Is it okay if I return it as it is? I don’t feel like waiting in a dealership a few hours for something I never use. Appreciate any feedback.
Different brand but BMW wouldn’t even inspect my car as it sits in the dealership for a drive train malfunction. This is with around 45 days left on the lease.
You’re giving the inspector way too much credit, other than cosmetic items, tires, glass and warning lights. They aren’t checking to make sure that everything works.
As mentioned above, doubt the inspector will even notice it.
Drivetrain issue is a little more severe and noticeable than a child safety lock.
Op, agree with the others, I’d be shocked if they even noticed. Only chance would be if the door doesn’t open at all.
I’m curious… if you never use it, how did you find the problem?
of course I tried once and it automatically unlocked, so I mentioned to my dealer during maintenance but next time I came in they had the wrong part.
Haha. Good on you for getting it fixed under warranty for the next owner.
