Volvo lease end plus move plus hail damage questions

, ,

We have a 2024 volvo lease that i got a true hack on 2 years ago that is coming to an end in October. I am looking for some advise on how to handle a few things on this lease end. I have leased several vehicles but this is my 1st volvo and we are moving. To add to that we just had a bad hail storm amd we took a lot of damage. Here are some things to consider.

  1. We have only put about 7k miles on the car and it was a 2 year 7500/year lease

2. Car is due back in October

3. We are moving from houston TX to O Fallon IL (metro east St louis)

4. We had a major hail storm last week and according to progressive inspectors we need a new hood and the rest can be done with PDR but I am awaiting final payout info in the next week or so.

I am looking for advise anyone may have for this situation. What should I consider. What should I avoid. Etc. Things like Texas taxes vs Illinois taxes. How will the repaired car be handled by volvo. Can I sell or trade to a non volvo dealer (i don’t think so but maybe something i don’tknow about) any other advise along those lines.

You have to fix the car, just like any other damage. File a claim.
You can’t sell/trade your Volvo, only return or buy.

Hood is probably the easiest to do PDR since you have full access on both sides. Also check the cost per panel in your contract. Let’s say a new hood and paint costs $2000 but damage limit is $400 per panel, you can turn in as is.

Get a quote from a PDR shop yourself for the entire car.
