Volvo EX90 info

Wondering if anyone has any experience with the EX90? Anything better/worse than the XC90? Is it hackable?

We are approaching our 6-month turn in date for our 2023 XC60 - we’ve had some major issues with the infotainment, however also have a 24 XC90 PHEV and have really enjoyed our experience. So a little torn as to whether I want to turn the XC60 in for a EX90.

From a lease standpoint, EX90 is not even remotely close to hackable. Find a broker that will do a pull ahead for you, and then snag an XC90 T8.

I am in a similar boat. XC90 PHEV goes back around Thanksgiving although I can’t really turn it in early since with Virginia taxes keeping lease to maturity (or buying out and selling) is a no brainer.

But if you want the EX90 I’d consider waiting at least a few months for it. The status quo can’t continue for the next 6 months. Volvo can’t keep their SC factory open, a factory that primarily builds EX90s, while barely selling any EX90. Either they need to increase sales, most likely via better lease deals, or shut down production. Something will give. No idea what it will be.

Seriously? You wait till end to save around $450? lol
I never thought about this, but you make a great point. Though doing pull-ahead saves money on PPT :slightly_smiling_face:

Your post really made me think. I guess I only care because my last few leases I paid the tax upfront to avoid paying the higher interest charges by financing it over the term of the lease. Once you do that, and with many 24 month EV leases here having an effective tax rate of 20%-30%, the incremental cost of keeping the lease the last few months is attractive.

That said, if you roll the taxes into the lease, turning the car in early can be a great deal. Those tax payments disappear. I’m almost surprised Volvo lets you do it. Unlike in 47 other states, Volvo has to pay the full taxes at the time of sale so by letting me pull ahead five months on my last XC90 they had to forgo collecting the 600 dollars in taxes they had already paid on my behalf.

I always roll my taxes in, at least since I started doing minimal drive-offs with MSDs.
