I did a one-pay 36mo/10K lease on a 2018 Chevy Volt from @chevysalesgirl three years ago for around $6300 - it was my first leasing experience and she made it incredibly easy. I’m at lease’s end, and have been looking for a Bolt lease, but can’t find a good deal. I called Chevy Financial and they said if I don’t turn in the Volt at lease’s end, it will default to a 6-month extension at $157/month. This sounds like a great option to me! Thoughts?
Did they tell you how they came up with $157? I’m in the same situation, waiting for my 4xe so may have to keep the lease until it is delivered.
Brag about it why don’t you?
$942 to wait out six more months of this? Where do I sign?
Dumb luck is nothing to brag about! I’m afraid I’m missing something.
You will pay a whole year’s California registration and you won’t be able to get a refund, but that’s $400-ish. The only concern I might have is the warranty - when is the manufactures warranty up at this point? How reliable has it been?
No, they did a quick calculation over the phone and gave me that number. I asked if I could get that in writing and they said no! Lol.
How reliable has it been?
It’s decent. I’ve been using it for lots of roadtrips between Bay Area and OC. Multiple trips to Tahoe/Big Bear too. All I did was visiting service yearly (free for the first 2 years)
If it had 4WD/AWD I would have buy it out and keep it. Daily practicality is unbeatable, only need to fill gas like 3 times a year if you don’t do long distance trips.
I ask that because once the car is out of warranty, you’re assuming all the liability unless you get an extended warranty. Because it’s a plug-in hybrid, it has all the complexities of both.
You’re in pretty good shape in that regard. Powertrain is 5/60k and the battery is 8/100k if I’m not mistaken.
I haven’t seen anything that looks problematic warranty wise, it’s no bmw. Extend that sucker as long as you can
I don’t believe GM lease extensions include additional millage. It’s not a problem if your under your original lease term millage at turn in. Otherwise they may charge if your over.
It would be good if someone could confirm if the mileage addition or non-addition is the case.
Yes - I need to find this out. Will reply when I do!
Take the 6 months-can’t get anything cheaper than that now.
I may be swapping my '20 Bolt One pay in September (6 month clause) if you’re interested then… will have 30 months left at that point
