Dealer in VA who I originated the lease from says I have to pay a dealer processing fee plus “cert” fees to buy-out my Acura 2019 MDX lease. After buyout, I plan to resell. Is this right?
I don’t see that listed on my lease paperwork, and plan to call Acura Financial Services to see if I can buy directly from them without these fees. I have only 21K miles on it out the 36K lease.
There are no such things as “legitimate” or “illegitimate” fees. If you go to a dealer and sign a contract, you are doing so willingly. But there’s no need to do that when:
we can cash the car out for you w/o the need to buy it out yourself and pay extra fees and then wait for title.
I did not pay dealer fees nor any other fees, apart from title/registration. I was told by my Volvo dealer that they are not allowed to charge dealer fees on buy out. My understanding was that it is a VA thing (like not paying sales tax again when going through the original dealer). But I may have misunderstood and it is brand specific.
