Using OL code before paperwork and delivery?

I have an OL code from the BMW ultimate driving event that expires at the end of September. The car I’m currently interested in isn’t available to be leased until October 1st.

The internet sales manager says they can presell but won’t be able to do paperwork and delivery until Oct 1.

Am I still able to apply the OL code with a pre-sell or does it need to be valid at the time of doing paperwork?

Why is that, is it in transit? Or they just don’t want to apply the OL, I believe you have to take delivery before end of month if the OL expires the end of this month.
