Hello. To make it quick, I got approved for the DCAP Grant which is 7500 for an EV (7000 for a PHEV) with a gross cap cost of less than 45k. But I’m limited to certain dealerships. So should I be looking for the cars myself but in turn, I feel like I won’t really get a really good deal. I’m mainly looking for like a one time pay with it but ok that’s rare. Any advice on how I should approach looking for a lease with this?
call brokers first…unless you like spending 4 hours per dealership for deals
I think someone posted about their experience several mos ago w/ the same grant. IIRC, they got a decent deal. Maybe look up that thread and contact the OP to see what strategy they used? I think they knew what model of car they wanted, which certainly narrowed down the options.

I’m not from CA and know nothing about this grant, but my concern would be if the dealers you are limited too know you have the grant, they may try to take advantage of your limits.
Is Tesla an option? Not usually recommended as a hack, but might be worth a look see for comparison data point.
