Used Car Market Head Scratchers

I was perusing the used car market as I often do and came across a BMW M5 that made me question my sanity. I thought I’d start this thread to see what else folks come across in their quest for the amazing deal!

I would love to know what @ethanrs has to say about this one as the pricing is nearing his Porsche :joy:

These guys are fishing for the guy who has fond memories with his his late father’s brand new m5.

In all seriousness, there will always be sellers asking for exorbitant amount of money for “rare” items, regardless of the market. Doesn’t mean that’s the norm.

Then you probably know EAG is known for setting the most aspirational prices on vintage BMWs.

It’s a car that would probably bring $100-125k on BAT because there are always garage queen fetishists who look at odometers as an inverse d!ck measuring contest.

Anyone who wants to actually drive one can buy a very nice one for one third of that.

I saw one of these at the BMW CCA meet in San Diego today and thought I’d have a look. The one that was at the meet was probably a 150k mile example with a Domino’s Pizza delivery sign on the roof. Imagine my surprise at the $200k example

Not unlike the current housing market where every seller expects ridiculous amounts above their list price.

For $900k, they could’ve at least offered free shipping.

Here is another head scratcher for those who love BMWs. The 1988 M3 that is apparently approaching 1/4 million. :joy:
